Unhappy I can't believe I did this...

...to myself. So maybe the post op blues are hitting me bad but I can't help but think that if I did NOT do this I would be playing w/ my kids, sleeping on my belly/cuddling w/ my dh, everything would be NORMAL. I think my breasts are WAY too big and they will just look like two cantaloupes sitting on my chest since I had little tissue before hand.

Right before my pre-op my dh informed me he didnt' want me to go through w/ it (which he had been going back and forth on yay/nay all along anyways). He has been totally supportive of me post op and left me a card today and he wrote all kinds of sweet things he thought of while I was in surgery. Then the last line was, "I hope you enjoy them"... Isn't HE supposed to enjoy them as well? What does that mean? Then he surprised me w/ a larger size sports bra since this one is leaving marks on me because it's way too tight... That pushed me over the edge...how on EARTH could I have messed everything up just because I wasn't happy w/ my breasts? At least I had the family happy...

I'm sorry for the it's just really hitting me hard today...

~J

Oh, JB *squeezy hugs* It looks like you have the post-BA blues pretty bad. Hang in there and just take it one day at a time. And keep venting here! That's what we're here for.

The Post Op Blues do hit about this time and I promise it will get easier, you'll just have to give it time. I too went through it and still have moments when I think of things that would have happened differently had I not had surgery. Are my family suffering? No. Are they unhappy because I ask them to help with the youngest child? No. Are there things in my house I have not gotten too because I feel I have pushed my chest muscles or the incision at this time and do not feel comfortable doing more? Yes. However, everyone is fine and everyday gets better and easier and the girls look more and more normal and I am finding things that I like to wear and feel comfortable in being that it is still early. It will all start to seem more and more fine in a few more days.

You are adjusting to life with boobies--A to D is a big jump--they are going to feel a little odd for a while. Plus you are tired and your body is healing. I'm sorry that DH is not exactly happy, but it does seem like he's trying a little to be a team player. He's processing too and will come around. Be patient with your body and with yourself. It's okay to feel yucky--sometimes we moms don't give ourselves enough permission to do so! We want to hold everyone else together and for all to be "happy". One day at a time. Try not to process too much right now. Your emotions are on overload.

Hugs to you!

Awwww!

Big, big hugs!!!! I'm so sorry you feel so bad, but all will get better with time. I just experienced a day or so of pre-BA blues and I'm fully anticipated on post-op blues as well. It's all part of the package, but I'm sure it's so worth it all in the end! Hang in there sweets! You're gonna look amazing!!!

Hello JB, I completely understand exactly what u are going through right now.. That is what I went through, I would break down crying about how they looked to big for me. Rather then crying about the non stop pain.. I wished over and over that I could take back what I did to myself.. It is now about day 20. And I promise u, I feel no more pain. Plus I am sleeping on my stomach again! Yahhhhh.. Another thing that makes me extremely happy is that a lot of the swelling has gone down and I’m starting to feel a lot more happier with my decision. It does take a good 3 months for most of the swelling to go down, if u went with unders. However, I don’t feel sexy with them yet. But, I know in time I will… Hope this helps you on ur journey to recovery.

Take a deep breathe and tell yourself "YOU WILL GET THROUGH THIS". Recovery is an emotional rollercoaster, but hang in there, days will get better. Take a breather and go outside or focus on something positive. Try to do something with your kids that doesn't involve lifting or anything too physical.

Hang in there girl!! We have all been there!! You'll start feeling better any day now!

It will get better...i promise!!! i had the blues about the same time as you. once you get the go ahead to start massaging the swelling will start to come down. Ice packs are a HUGE help with swelling. It is going to take some time to heal but you will get there!!

LDH will become famous soon enough
Been there too! I promise, a day will come when you will look in the mirror and think, "it was all worth it". Give it about 4 or 5 weeks. There is nothing about this process that involves immediate gratification. In the meantime, you will cry and have moments of distress, but just remember your family will be fine and you will be fine. You can still play and enjoy time with your kids. I spent a lot of time sitting on the floor with my kids building stuff and reading stories. We would also sit at the kitchen table and color, play with play doh, and do crafts. Your kids don't mind if you aren't rough-housing, as long as they see their mommy and you are interacting, they will be happy. I even had a few movie nights with popcorn in my bed (big no no in my house). My two year old and I were asleep by the end of the movie, but the 7 year old enjoyed it. So, those are a few ideas for you to still feel like you are part of the family and enjoy time with the kids. I am not sure if you are still on pain meds, I don't remember your date, but play doh on vicodin is FUN! Try to keep a positive attitude. Sounds like your DH is trying really hard to make you feel good, so that is a good thing!

((hugs!!)) I just posted...Boobie Blues a few days ago. I was a hormonal, crying mess a few days ago. I was right there with you! I promise you will get through this before you know it. I have made huge progress in just two days (since my post), a bit of swelling has gone down and when I got up to get in the shower this morning, I didnt feel like I had weights sitting on my chest. I promise you will get through this and be so happy. Hang in there.
