first post op today - uugh gotta go back next week

Well I had my first Post op today and most everything went well. They removed the steri strips and the incision under my right breast looks to be healing perfectly - yay! Unfortunately the left one is not so pretty. It's really red and bumpy and has a few pin-head sized blisters. My PS thinks it's from the surgical bra rubbing and I'm instructed to use neosporin and gauze for the next week and find a different bra too, and go back in a week for a recheck. I must say, it itches terribly!!! This is the same site that I'd started a thread on a few days ago or so for drainage - well now we know why! I must say that I am relieved that there isn't an opening or anything, just irritated-blistered skin causing the drainage. Oh well. It could be so much worse so I shouldn't complain!

Other than that, I'm pretty much in the clear for returning to daily activities. Still no pushing/pulling for at least 2 more weeks (no problem!) and was instructed "if it hurts, don't do it" but otherwise says everthing looks good. Also no submersion into water for at least 3 more weeks (no swimming or anything - blah) and keep showers short - he especially doesn't want lefty getting too wet. He discussed dropping/fluffing (not in those terms) and that I wouldn't have so much upper fullness when everything settles down (THANK GOODNESS) and that I would round out more towards the bottom (it's tight and a bit flat).

Anywho, that's how my first post - op went. hopefully the neosporin works and the itching goes away!

At least you found an answer to your problem and its nothing really serious!! That is great. I still have 3 more weeks before I am able to do normal activities, lucky you.

Sorry to hear about your left side...but I'm sure it will all be good after some neosporin.
Glad to hear that everything else is going good.

Sorry about lefty, but it sounds like you can get it under control now! Are you just going to use a normal sports bra now? I'm using a zip-front and it works beautifully!
