Stretching for the 1st time in 3 weeks

As many of you know, I'm a dance teacher and wakeboarder, so I'm used to stretching everyday and being super active. Now that I have been a couch potato and unactive for 20 days, I'm starting to feel not only lazy but fat and out of shape...so today I thought I would stretch...you know basic stretches, nothing that I had to use my own body weight or pull...just some basic stuff and ............man...It hurt to stretch...that rarely happens, but I guess after 20 days of nothing...that's what I get.

Do you think it's safe to stretch? I was doing my middle splits, splits and stretching my legs to my head. (sounds crazy, I know). I plan on dancing on July 23rd and wakeboarding on July 26th,so need to get limber again.

Luckly all my flexibility will come back to me. I just hate not being active and stretching...I want to go back to normal life (with boobs) though

I don't know if it'll hurt you. This is a good question that I have too. I woke up this morning and have felt terrible since. My back feels stiff and my legs are sore. I'm used to stretching and exercising at least 4 times a week. I feel horrible. I have back problems and when I don't do my exercises my back starts hunching. So soon I will have big boobs hitting my knees. So I decided I was stretching at least. I feel a little better. I was thinking as long as its not weights and not like cardio, seems like we're still complying with their orders. I cheated too and didn't where the sportsbra for a few hours today. LOL!!! Thing hurts. My husband has been calling me a rebellious teenager all day since I've broken every rule given to me today. Oh well maybe someone can answer you and me at the same time.

I too have back trouble....I had to go to acupunture and several chiropractor visits until I had the problem fixed...and now I MUST stretch my back before any physical or strenous activity. I haven't done these excerises, so I'm assuming my back muscles will be tight and weak. But today I layed on my stomach and tried to do the "seal" stretch, where you put pressure on your forearms/hands and arch your back, but I couldn't put pressure on forearms, so let's just say I didn't do that stretch. But was able to do some others.
