Day 4 Sleeping the day away?
Maybe it was the fact that all the meds were finally catching up with me, but I swear I slept the entire day away! I am so groggy and just exhausted. it took all of my husband;s strength to get me sitting upright in bed to eat and drink. Then I slept again until 1 pm. He helped me with a sponge bath and hair wash. Now it is 5:40 pm and I am so ready to go back and lie down. He won't let me-dinner is ready soon. I am so tired though. He said he even massaged me and changed the dressings during my nap! I was reading somewhere that it is not unusual to have very long periods of rest. Hopefully I will outgrow it. Oh, and I tend to have more of a sharp jagged like pain inthe left side only-is this normal too?

If you are tired, rest. Healing uses up a lot of energy. Good for your husband taking such good care of you!
![]() The sharp jagged pains are probably your nerves regenerating. Sometimes they will catch you off guard but it's good they are doing this, it means you'll likely get the sensation back. |

I slept quite a bit until about day 3. Then it was more doing stuff and running out of energy and needing a nap. I only took meds the first and second day though. I don't think there is anything weird with being that tired. You just had surgery and your body is recovering. It's like when you have a cold the best thing is rest. I had terrible pains in my lefty too. After a few days of the massaging though it got a lot better. Good Luck!!!

I noticed as well, that massaging helps a great deal with those random pains. I've had the most trouble when I wake up after sleeping with a tight-fitting bra. I had a similar experience early in the week of my recovery. I slept so much during the day that I ended up tweaking my entire sleeping schedule. It was tough getting myself on a normal schedule, but I think I needed the sleep. I would definitely recommend that you give in to your sleep waves. At least it's time you can spend without discomfort, and your achy body will thank you for it. *high five* to your husband. What a great guy.

If you're tired rest. I had a revision on Wednesday and felt pretty great. Probably did more than I should have Thursday and Friday. Pretty much off of pain medicine on Thursday, but did take one Friday night before bed. Today, I've been exhausted and slept quite a bit. I actually did take a pain pill even earlier this evening due to some pain from stitches where crease was raised.
Again, you are blessed to have a wonderful DH to take care of you like that.

I slept for 3 days straight. I only woke up to eat and go to the bathroom! LOL I probably would have slept through day 4 but we had visitors (in laws) so I got out of bed. Get plenty of rest. It will make your recovery better. Good luck!

I slept alot during the first 4 days. I realized that it was the percocet that was making me sleepy. I stop taking it afterwards
