I've been in a sports bra and the strap since I got my BA, and I have only one more week to go until I can wear wireless bras and ditch the strap, YAY!
However, I had to go to a barbecue today, and I really didn't want to wear the strap, so I left it home. I also wore a wireless bra too because I wanted to look good. They looked fabulous in my fitted tank, and I was feeling good as we were leaving the house. Once in the car I could feel the fullness at the top of my breasts, and it was really uncomfortable. I was wishing I'd at least brought the strap to wear in the car! My boobies also felt weird being in a normal bra and not being held in with a sports bra. I'm glad to know that they're going to look pretty damn great when everythign settles down, but I could not take off my bra fast enough and slip into my sports bra and strap! Anyone else have a love/hate relationship with their sports bra and/or strap? I wonder if I'm going to want to ditch them, they're just so much more secure and I guess comfortable!

Same here. Last night I had a get together to go to and I couldnt wear the sportsbra because it showed through the top. I bought a cheap bra at target a 34C, which I guess it equivalent to 32D. I couldn't wait to get home. Though at night I can sleep free. I was happy to use the sportsbra today and not need to put that bra back on. I still think I hate the sportsbra. I think I will love my regular bras when things settle more. I'm still planning a sportsbra burning. HEHE

Me too :)
I def still feel that I need the sports bra. Im not rushing things. I know that I will not fit well in a real bra for about 2 months and I know that even then....that will not be my permanent size. I think the breasts have changed just about as much as they will around 5 months or so. We just have to be patient. It will be worth it by next summer

I have that feeling too....When I have to wear a bra w/ certain shirts I will, but if it's a T-shirt or something that I could wear a sports bra w/ I'll do it...the only thing is, I put my bikini top pads inside my sports bra to prevent headlights
The first time I wore a bra it was weird and I couldn't wait to get into my sports bra. The first week I hated my sports bra because I thought that was making my back hurt, but it was my posture post-op...Every1's getting along now

Yeah, my back was killing me at first too, but part of it was the sports bra. Anything tight on my neck or shoulder muscles will give me a tension headace and make my back hurt. It is a getting better though
But..I havent wore a real bra at all yet. I havent even bought one. The furthest I got was trying one on at the store just for fun

Some PS actually prefer that their patients go braless, I don't think they'd recommend that if there was an increased chance of gettting CC! They just all have different philosophies about recovery procedures.

my PS instructed no bras of any kind for 4 wks. i just started wearing wireless bras after my 1 month PO visit but even then i was advised that if i could go braless for longer then even better. everyone's PS has a preference. i don't think going braless increases the risk of CC. my PS encouraged it to help w/dropping.

Ohhhhh, it is sooooo confusing!!!
Why can't they all just be on the same page, it makes me nervous. You would think that there would be enough studies out there to confirm a best method, but I guess not

I STILL don't wear a normal bra.
I don't know what size I am either, but I've been squishing into my old bras. The ones I wore before I lost all the weight. They "fit" but are really snug. I am still wearing the wireless I bought like 2 weeks after my BA. Everytime I wear one with wires I am screaming to get out of them within 2 hours. I only wear them when my bf and I go out for dinner, otherwise it's bikini tops(I live in Hawaii, and spend most days out at the pool) and camosale tanktops with built-in-bras. |

Hi Jennram01, I couldn't agree more, you read that everyone else has been given different advice and just hope and pray that you are doing everything right. I have decided that if I follow my PS's instructions to the letter then if anything goes wrong I can get him to put it right.
I had to wear a band for two weeks, 24 hours a day, with a sports bra, now I have to wear a sports bra for a further four weeks still 24 hours a day, up until my 6 week post op check up, after that its wireless bras for 6 months and back to wired after that. Just follow what your PS advises and happy healing to you. Di X |

I agree with Kpang78. I was instructed not to wear a regular bra until I'm happy with where the implants have settled. Sports bra central for at least another month or 2! Good thing I absolutely loooove the way I look in tank tops
lolAnd no wire bras for 6 months. I think my boobs would still look weird in a regular bra anyway. Like the bra is sitting on top of them instead of my boobs laying inside the cup. |

I am 13 days post and at one week out I was told I could wear whatever I wanted or none if I chose to do so. I do notice that I like wearing nothing better. Alot more comfortable.
