Feeling Sad...Normal?
I swear I am on an emotional roller coaster and can't quite slow down. I go from being so excited about having my BA to questioning why I have done this to my body when there was nothing "wrong" with me to begin with. I try to rationalize my thinking...telling myself that I am only feeling down because I can't sleep normally, my posture is off (causing back pain), having soreness, and am not used to having to modify many of my daily activities. I also read this site all the time and know that the random shooting pains, numbness, and other "weird" feelings are all normal. However, I just have this overall feeling of being sad. Did anyone else experience this? If so, do you think it is due to all of the above things I listed? When will I begin to feel like a normal human being again? I get out daily and see friends/run errands. I really am trying to be "normal". I just want to feel like I did before all of this. I think that is the main cause. I want to be able to curl up in my bed and flop around to get comfortable. I HATE my couch and sleeping propped up. Nighttime is when I get really down. Sorry that I am so whiny; I am usually not like this. That is why I wanted to know if anyone else has felt what I am feeling. Thanks for reading!

You are going through the "boobie blues," so common that it has a name. Between the high anticipation pre-BA and the natural let-down after, the anesthesia meds, and the pain meds in your system, your body and mind just don't quite know how to take it all in. Plus you are tired from healing and trying to get back to normal activities. You can't do it all, right away, and you want to. Just try and keep in mind that it will get better! This will all pass and the excitement will return. Hang in there, and know most of us went through the same thing, so you can come here and find plenty of understanding, caring women to listen to whatever you need to say.

Yes, this is completely normal! Mine started on day 5, by day 7 I was crying all the time, then it seemed to pass, and then it reared its ugly head on several occasions. So far, I think they have passed...for good. Hang in there!

Wow...I feel like I wrote your post. I had my BA on the same day as you. I hear you about the sleeping being the worst. Thats like the last straw with me..I just want to snuggle up to my hubby and can't and have to retreat into the living room to our recliner and I hate it. I can't get out and about though. I am in too much pain still and think I should be much farther along. I hated the boobs at first (only 265ccs though)...thought they were too big...and then I loved them and wondered if I should have gone bigger lol. And I'm all bloated and have a huge belly. I am sorry I don't have anything to tell you it will get better from firsthand experience but I have certainly read many patients say it does. I go tomorrow to the dr. to get my stitches out and am anxious to see what they say about the discomfort I am STILL having. Hang in there and let us know how you are doing (HUGS)

Thank you so much for all of your kind words. It is amazing how much better I feel this morning. However, I am prepared for my "evening sadness". I don't know what I would do without the support of everyone on here! Thank you so much!

I also felt like I could have written your post. I am so discouraged that I can't even care for my own kids.....and I have two more weeks of someone helping me with them! Let's hope the blues pass soon for the both of us and we can enjoy them!

Also, I think the recovery process takes so much of our energy for healing that by night you might be a bit more emotional..."evening sadness" I had this problem for several weeks.

I also feel the EXACT same way. I am exactly 1 week post op and I am such an emotional mess. My kids and dh are out of town until Sunday and I have no idea how I am suppose to take care of my kids when I cannot even lift over 5 pounds for another 5 weeks. To top it all off my boobies are too small.
I am so glad there are other girls out there to tell us this is normal and it will pass. I just pray it passes soon my dh is not going to know how to handle this. |

Hey! I justed noticed we are neighbors. Know that this will pass. I also thought my boobs were way t o small but after the muscle loosened up a bit, I am far more satisfied. Try to not freak out just yet. Who is your PS?
