My PS has his own Spa center attached to his medical center. He offers his patients three free lymphatic massages after their surgery. My first one was today and boy was it wonderful.

Lymphatic massage or lymph drainage massage is a technique used to help increase lymph flow. Increased lymph flow removes harmful substances from the tissues and increases immune function. Stephanie (my masseuse) started on my back sitting up topless. I leaned on pillows. She did a lot of work under my arm pits where the lymphs are. Then I laid on my back topless (she covered the breast she was not working on with a towel) and she massaged all around each breast one at a time. It felt really good! LOL! She said this would help soften things up. Stephanie said I would see results up to 24 hours after. She also massaged my incision line. She said by the time she was done with our third meeting she will have them totally smooth and flat! The massage should help reduce the swollen areas I have and also the tightness. Other than that I am not suppose to deep massage or push or pull on my own breasts. She did none of that either. It was all very gentle and relaxing.

For anyone who is able to have a lymphatic massage after BA I totally recommend it 100%. Just make sure that your PS agrees with it. It is not harsh at all to your new boobs. I felt less pressure and tightness after I left. I ust felt overall great and really relaxed. The massage also helped my back since I am suppose to sleep only on my back at this time. I can't wait for my next session next Saturday.

Three free massages! What a great PS. You're lucky. I've had healing massages of various types throughout my life and if the massage therapist knows anatomy, they really are healing. I'm jealous.

Yes, this was a very appealing part of his package. His facility is really beautiful and the spa is also very nicely done. I think the massage package is about a $300 value.

Me too! I wish I could have a massage for my breast right now... ohhhhhhh they are feeling so full - like two over-filled water balloons!

OH how lucky! I've never heard of this but it sounds wonderful! I'll have to look into this, thanks for bringing it to my attention
