Morning Boob is the worst!...Questions, Questions, Questions
Just wondering how long this morning boob lasts? I feel great for the most part of the day, but that first hour after I get up I feel like an elephant has sat on my chest all night long. I've been trying to massage and ice them first thing when I get up, but they are so sensitive I can't be as aggressive as I know I need to be. Also, how aggressie do I need to be when massaging them? Some of the movements make my toes curl! I was also wondering how long you ladies stayed on pain meds before you found you didn't need them anymore. I'm 4 days out and I am still taking my meds. Not as frequently, but I am hoping to get off them soon. I'd also like to know how long it'll take before they start to soften a little more and don't feel quite so engorged.
Antother thing: This may be too much info., but I haven't gone to the restroom since Sunday night and my surgery was on Monday. Got any suggestions? I asked my PS about this and he recomended that I drink warm prune juice (yuck) and take Dulcolax. So far nothing. It's not like I feel as though i need to relieve myself, but I have beautiful boobs now and don't want my tummy to stick out farther than they do. lol (and I'm well on my way to that happening) I weighed myself this morning and I weigh 6 pounds more than I did on Mon. morning!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know this is due to bloating, but it's starting to mess with my head a little. Please excuse me for posting so many questions lately. I'm just such a private person and feel uncomfortable discussing such sensitive isssues with other people. This awesome forum has provided me with a tool to get my questions answered and still spare my dignity. HaHa! I promise things will settle down for me soon and I won't be driving you all crazy for much longer. Thanks for your patience.

I'm just over a week out and my 'morning boob' is greatly subsiding. I just take a few tylenol for the little pangs of pain and I'm good for the day, so it'll be ending for you soon!!
I can't really help you with the massaging thing as I'm not even supposed to be massaging until 6 weeks out, but as far as the bathroom is concerned, I probably didn't have a BM for about 5 days. I took 3 laxatives and drank prune juice as well and in about a day I was back to normal...as long as you're taking your pain meds, you will definitely have some plumbing problems, just so you're aware. I think I stopped my meds at about day 4 and switched to tylenol strictly and have been normal ever since!! HTH!

Congratulations and welcome to Boobieville!
Morning boob for me lasted a couple of weeks, off and on. It's different for everyone. Some don't have it. I never got constipated. I drink Aloe Vera Juice and it is very good for you in many ways, but especially to move the bowels. It has an odd taste but it's not too bad. I mix it with other juice. |

I can't offer any good advice since I haven't had my BA yet. But I did want to say that it's not TMI! Soley because all of what is posted helps the rest of us.
These questions and their answers are helping me prepare! BTW, congrats on the girls! ;-) |

Hello mom2dkl, I just had my BA tuesday morning, so I'm in the same spot as you, I hate morning boob...but i hate the little zingers more so...OUCH! Sorry but I can't really help you out with the massaging cause my PS informed me not to masage do to having textured implants. And I am deffinately still on the pain meds & hoping things start feeling better soon. i would have to say that so far yesterday was the worst for me. As for going to the bathroom, I have been eating ALOT of fruit, black cherries and blackberries mostly, And they have helped out greatly! sure beats them prunes(yuk), and I was able to go to the bathroom the day after surgery. And hun don't worry about posting so many questions, thats why we are all here for, to help each other.

I'm 3 weeks out and still have morning boob...it only seems to last for a few minutes tho.
You're supossed to be fairly aggressive when you massage..I know it sucks, but it does get easier each day. The bathroom issue is horrible..I totally relate..I didn't go for a week..I used EVERYTHING...but it was glycerine suppositories that finally did the trick. Good luck girl. |

Morning boob: I know! Its the worst! But it gets better.. I had major improvement after one week.
Pain meds: I'm 16 days out and still on them :-/ However I've noticed many don't seem to need them nearly that long. Constipation: If you are constipated from pain med you can use Milk Of Magnesia, OTC at Walgreens or anywhere is what my nurse told me! I'm about to try that too. My tummy looks like I'm a couple or 3 months pregnant! Good luck! :-) |

Ok morning boob for me got better everyday. By week 3 it started getting almost non existant. I can now say for days now I have it no more. So hang in there girls it will get better. They even feel like they are mine and I don't have penguin arms anymore.
I didn't take anything for the inability to have a BM. I just woke up one day and seeing my largish belly I said that's it. I went and sat with a book and I was like I'm not moving until I go. I did drink plenty of water though. Pain meds. I got off of those the second day. I have a huge tolerance for pain mostly because I despise pill taking so much. So I just said no more. I was still sore but I iced and walked around and changed positions a lot. Standing, sitting half laying even indian style sitting with some small back stretches. It did pass and by day 4 I was feeling almost normal and day 5 I felt fine. |

I had terrible morning boob up until about 10 days ago. So there is light at the end of the tunnel. My ps told me to take some aleve, the anti-inflammatory reduces the swelling alot so it takes away some of the pressure. Also sleeping more upright reduces the severity alot, but i couldn't do that I hate sleeping on my back to begin with.

I'm 3 weeks out and morning boob comes around VERY slightly and not very often. When I was only 1 week, I would take 3 or 4 advil or 2 Aleve and it would alleviate the pressure and tightness. But I promise in 2 more weeks you're gonna feel a significant difference. No more bear-hugging tightness
![]() As far as BM, as soon as I stopped taking the Vics I went a day later. So if you can tolerate the discomfort try to ween off of the pills. |

I agree, morning boob is the worst! I began a thread on it a week ago.... it takes so long to get out of bed.

Pain meds make you constipated. I know it sucks, but once you're off them you'll be back to normal. If it helps, take a gentle laxative to help move things along. HTH!
