What do you wear?
What did you girls wear on the way home? Or for the first week or so? Isnt it impossible to put a shirt on over your head - or is that just with an armpit incision? Trying to get prepared!!

On the way to surgery, I wore a zip-up sweatshirt. But by the time I got home, it was way too warm, so I switched into a short sleeve button-down. I can raise my arms over my head with discomfort (areolar incision), but everyone's different. Just make sure to have help. Good luck!

I was able to put a loose t-shirt over my head by day 4. Until then
I wore a cardigan or hoodie or a button up shirt over my post-op bra if I was chilly. Bring a button up shirt or zip-up hoodie. Don't bother buying front closing recovery clothes because most of the time you'll be lying in bed in your post-op bra. It's a waste of money. By the time you are ready to get out you'll also be ready to put on normal clothes.

I wore a zip up light hoodie and sweats to surgery. the next few days i wore jammies with button up jammie shirts (they are much easier to find than comfy regular button up shirts) It wasn't like i was leaving the house anyways. lol

It's blazing hot in Louisiana, so I wore a sleeveless button-up shirt (with room in the boob area!) and capris.

I either wore a button up shirt or when I got too hot spagetti strap tanks. They were streatchy enough that I could pull them up around my waist and not have to put them on over my head. I couldnt do that comfortably for about a week 1/2 or so and I had the ariola inc.

I wore a short-sleeve zip-up hoodie. The first 2 days of recovery, I just wore my bra and gym shorts lol. After that, I could pull a tank top up my legs and slide my arms in. I think it was 5 or 6 days post/op I could actually lift my arms over my head to pu on a shirt.

I wore a short-sleeve zip-up hoodie and matching pants home. At home I just wore my bra and shorts, no shirt. It was waay to hot to wear shirt. After a week I was able to pull something over my head.

I wore shorts & tank to the surgery center.... PS suggested to wear button/snap up PJs home... Got a cute pair that di not look SUPER PJ ish at good ol Walmart. That way I was ready to lounge when I got home. I wore the zip up short sleeved hoodies for a few days & then a loose wife beater tank the my kids or DH helped me with VERY slowly....

I went out and bought a whole bunch of really cute button up tank tops and dresses and stuff and honestly I don't find it any more comfortable to put those on than to throw on a t shirt. Actually I prefer just to wear a loose fitting t because the horrible straps from this surgery bra and the tape are so ugly when they show through things. I did wear a button up cotton shirt and a zip hoody for my surgery though just to make it easier for the nurses to dress me, but I was able to put my own pants on and do up my shirt right away when I came out of my post op sleep. Zip up hoodies are great though (especially now that they have all the cute short sleeve ones for summer out). That way you can just throw one on on top of your surgery/sports bra as you get out of bed and you don't have to worry about what to wear.

button up :-)
I wore a sleeveless button down shirt and drawstring linen pants. I am in Alabama and it was way too hot for my Juicy sweatsuit that I had org. planned on wearing. But, after the surgery was over, what I was wearing was a minor concern as I just wanted to get home and eat ice cream lol! :-)

I wore a pair of shorts and a short-leeved zip-up hoodie, too! Once I got home I changed into some soft tank-top pajamas... I was able to pull it over my head just fine. But honeslty I stayed naked on top forever... LOL

I was told to bring a button up shirt to wear home as I would not be able to lift my arms to wear anything else. I needed that for the first 3 days but after that I managed to get a t shirt on without it being too big of a deal. I had crease incisions though. Congrats on getting your BA soon! :-)
