Thank you ladies for your comments. I apprecaite it. Just got off the phone with PS and she asked me if I was sore this morning from wakeboarding and the accident and I'm not, so I told her that. She asked me if the implant looked disfigured or out of place and it does not. She said that I was fine and I could continue. She didn't see any problem, unless I was in pain or my breasts looked weird. My PS originally did clear me at 6 weeks for wakeboarding. I'm a very athletic person, so that's why I have been running, dancing, rock climbing and then wakeboarding. The only upper body that is used is just being pulled behind the boat and honestly that didn't bother me. My lower back hurt from a previous injury and my hands (getting blisters) from holding onto the rope. I wakeboarded about 30 mins total before my face plant.
Since the PS said I"m okay, I'm going back out. (not until Sunday I will be careful though and make sure to avoid any crashes (even though I don't plan those) I will lay off jumping wakes I guess.I think the initial shock was the fall and the wierd feeling of an implant moving!!!! Thanks for the support!!!! |

When the boat was accelerating and pulling you out of the water,
didn't it put a huge strain on your muscles? Just wondering because I'd like to waterski at least once this summer.

Not really. It wasn't a big strain to be honest. It was a wierd feeling and some pressure but I held on and all was fine. My chest muscles aren't even sore today. My neck and back are though!!! Getting pulled out of the water is the worst part but once your out....it's all good. Even bouncing on cross wakes/waves aren't that bad...because I had a super tight lifejacket on to keep the girls supported. And no strain holding on the the handle either. I even held on with one arm alot!!! |

its always worth a call. but also remember, even if your breasts were "real" it would hurt like hell to land on one! haha good luck

It's true the silicone implants are VERY hard to rupture. My PS let me take one and squeeze and twist with all my might and it was amazing how tough it was! She said it would take a major car accident or something like that to break one. If you think it was a super hard hit your PS may want to do an MRI to see it, which my PS said is suggested every so many years between mammograms anyway. Don't worry too much, it's probably fine!

Whew - what a relief!! I can relate to your antsy-ness to get back out there. Just remember to keep the wakeboard side down!

Glad to see you made it back from the cruise! I bet you had a GREAT time showing off your new cha-chas! :-) I have to say, I am 4 weeks out and I constantly forget that I had a ba. I would get on a wake board and not think anything of it until I fell and felt that PAIN! I'm sure your implants are fine... it would be hard to rupture them, even on a wake board. It's YOU that you gotta worry about! Crazy girl... be careful. I certainly don't think you were "dumb" I think you were just a little excited to get back to your normal routine. Let me know when your PS says you can wake board safely. I'm sure it will be soon... try to occupy yourself with the dancing in the mean time :-)
I just saw your post... he said you can go back to wake boarding! Yae! My ps told me that after 6 - 8 weeks I could pretty much get back to normal, too.

I'm guessing it's your muscles that aren't fully recovered yet that are hurting, but like everyone has said, call your PS to be sure. I know it's hard to stay away from something you love for so long, but try & take it easy a little while longer

Well it's been 2 days since the wakeboarding injury and all is well.
Since we are talking about rupture...how much does it take to rupture a silicone implant? |
