Back from Surgery, with story and pictures!!!
Hey ladies.
Thanks so much for everything. I had my surgery yesterday morning at 6:15. When I got back there I had to go do a urine pregnancy test, and then was told to get undressed and into the gown provided. I asked, and they told me I could keep my undies on since they were cotton, but that I may wake up with them off because they slip you some more anti-nausea meds via downtown while you're out.. I asked them if there was anything else they planned surprising me with while I was out. They said no, haha. The first nurse that came into the room to put in an IV was sweet, but I could tell this girl was new. Not cool. I warned her that I am absolutely terrified of needles and blood. She stuck me in the left hand and couldn't get the needle all of the way in so she kept nudging it in and out and kinda scraping it around. I took it for about 3 minutes (while completely in tears) and finally said "Look! I'm sorry and I don't think you don't know what you're doing, but it feels like you're pulling it in and out and like you're going to rip my skin!!". Finally she gave up and called for another nurse. Good lord!! Terrible! The other nurse got it in in my right hand on the first try, thank god.. although I bled all over her hand, the side of my bed, and a pool on the floor.. and she decided to tell me (knowing I was terrified) "Oh goodness, you're just bleeding all over the place. Hold on, let me get a towel to clean this blood up".. Meanwhile my fiance sat there looking like he was about to knock out. Poor thing. My PS came in and marked me, and that only took a second. I met with the Anesthesiologist and he explained everything to me and then wheeled me into the operating room. It was so scary laying in that bed hooked up going down the hallways! They put some weird looking things around my legs that had lil' tubes in them that went over my thighs and a cap on my head. No catheter.. whew! The other guy in the room (I guess another nurse) said "Why, do you want a catheter?" and I said "No, I had to have one once and it was not pretty for that lady that did it.. I was screaming at her and it hurt." He said "Well, would you be nice to me if I gave you one?" I said "Nobody makes the cut to put a catheter in me. I'd kick you in the face." Haha.. showed him!! I remember being moved to the surgery table itself and looking at the lights above. They said "Here we go.." and I was out! I woke up in yet another room and said "Ohhh I gotta pee!!!" and kept drifting in and out. I had to use a bed pan.. eww!! After laying there for about 20 minutes or so I went back to the first room where my fiance was waiting. I drank 4 glasses of sprite and went to pee what seemed like the longest pees everrrrrr 3 times while in that room in a matter of 30 minutes. I was finally released. Last night was a bit rough, but nothing like I thought it would be. I do hurt and am very uncomfortable, but I think that I am one of the lucky girls.. so far. I'd rate the pain a 5 or so on a scale of 10. Although I have a pretty big pain tolerance with big things.. just not the little things like pinches and such. I've been taking my meds. every 6 hours. I was given the phenergan in the hospital before I left, so I only took it one time after than with my meds. I haven't felt too sick, and I haven't vomited. I do get the hiccups on and off (my fiance said that vicodin does that to him too!) and that is not cool at all. I started a yahoo group. I have before pictures, pictures of right when I got home, and pictures from just a few hours ago when I removed the dressings. Thanks again to everyone! ALSO - Splendid and Trice had their BA the same day. I hope it went well girls, WOOHOO!! <3 Steph P.S. If you want to join my group and see the pictures, then PM me with your e-mail address so I can invite you. I will be back online again when I can be. I've been sleeping a lot. |

Hey girl, I'm so glad you posted. I was getting a little worried.
Slipped you meds downtown? They let me keep my undies and jammie bottoms on.The nurse, I would have seriously killed!! I'm glad to hear everything else was uphill compared to the needle episode. Congratulations!!!!! Get some rest and enjoy your twins!!!!

In my pictures I took off my wrap and bandages.. but I also took off the gauze and stuff I had right under my boobs. I just have tape over the stitches now. I didn't realize that I could take that part off until it started coming off in the shower. My first shower was amazing. It was so nice to get all clean and get that horrible orange sanitizing crap off of me and feel the hot water hit me. I have had such great arm movement, with only what I'd consider minor discomforts compared to what the ladies here have mentioned. I still have no need for the nausea medication, and have had a great appetite. Tomorrow I go to Christmas with my family. They didn't know I got the surgery, so it will be my surprise. Haha. They are open, and it'll just such a fun shock! I can't wait. I was so worried that I wouldn't be able to make it. I was a 32 B but right now I am wearing a 36BC Champion sports bra. I tried the 34BC but it was too tight and didn't want to stay zipped!! My boobs are so silly looking. Haha. I am just so thankful that my recovery is going so well on only day one! Keep your fingers crossed that it keeps going well for me, ladies!

3 days out!
Today is day 3 and I'm doing well still.
I've been updating my Yahoo Group a lot with pictures and ramblings that will soon cease from the text limit on the front page. I've been taking my meds as prescribed still.. just not the anti-nausea meds because I don't need them. I still have a good appetite and am drinking plenty of fluids. I've tried to eat a lot of yummy and solid foods, but also concentrate on eating soups since they are good for me right now. On my yahoo group I'd said that I tried on a microfiber bra that I'd bought. It's one of those ultra soft and amazing microfiber bras from walmart that are like the shelf tanks.. without the tank (even though I have the ones with the tank too!). It was ridiculous. Haha, ohhh my fiance and I just stared and laughed and he just keep saying "..you're big!". I just kept thinking of either A. a wrestler chick that has the "my clothes are about to rip off" look, and B. one of those chicks you see with big honkin' boobs with the tiny triangles that just cover half of their boob and only their nipple. I don't feel like they are HUGE.. they look different all of the time to me. I feel like whatever I have when this healing journey ends I will be comfortable with because I have to remember what I went in to this wanting - something proportionate, and something that is not too small or too big so that I can wear whatever kind of shirt I want and not worry about not filling it out or like looking like a slut! I feel confident that I will accomplish this. They are of course still high and hard, but softening up a bit more today. My fiance and I have noticed a difference in the appearance already. So glad! I've been keeping them iced down as much as I can. It is getting easier for me to really lift my arms nearly all of the way.. I just take it slow. My fiance has been so good to me ladies. I just can't thank him enough. He even boiled and bleached the bra I wore home from surgery because it had that orange sterile crap all over it. Haha. Adorable. He's been catering to me like mad and I'm sure he's miserable. Right now he's vacuuming. It's nice to be pampered, but I actually feel bad. I wish I wasn't so helpless. I can't imagine if I was COMPLETELY helpless and stuck in bed. I keep getting itchies all over where my bras are.. and that is a sucky feeling. I let the girls out here and there to take a break, but at times I feel like I really want the support on the sides of them. The main place I can actually FEEL the implant is under my left armpit. Weirddd!! I can kinda.. swosh it. I have extremely minimal to no bruising where my incisions are.. although the bottom area of my right breast is numb. I am getting those out of nowhere shooting pains and such already, but I understand that it just the nerves coming back to life. I have feeling in both nipples, but not uncomfortable feeling. Normal, just a tiny bit less in my righty.. although I was never that big into my nipples feeling wise anyways, so it doesn't bother me! Have a Merry Christmas girls! If you want to join my group, I have a button below my sig. <3

Hi Steph
![]() congrats on your new girls i'm glad you seem to be doing well.i totally agree with you on the microfibre bras. i've been wearing them since i was allowed to wear normal bras and havent stopped since. they give me support with a kind of foamy "underwire" but dont have actual wires. they're great. i applied to join your group. if you want to see my pics i have a thread somewhere ..... and i also have pics wearing the microfibre bras
