At 4 weeks - big improvement

If anyone had said to me even a week and a half ago that I'd
be feeling as good as I do now, I would not have believed them.

I struggled with all the normal post-op woes - trouble dressing
myself and doing housework etc...

But I just had my 4 week "boobiversary" and am feeling
WAY better. Today I celebrated by doing a mini-quadrathalon -
walked 3 miles, biked 20 km, kayaked 3 km, and swam a
short distance (in a cute bathing suit, naturally). Nothing
too strenuous, but enough of a range of activities to put me
back in the game.

No way did I think I'd be feeling this well at 4 weeks. Two weeks ago I was
still sandbagging my chest with ice every morning and feeling
really discouraged. Only a week ago it still hurt to drive and I was wincing every time
I had to push a door open. I thought my summer was toast, but in the
last week improved very quickly.

So... for those of you earlier in the recovery process who may
be getting discouraged... take heart. It really does get better.
And it really does take 4 weeks!

Red face

Thanks for this post! Very encouraging. Just reading the forums for the past few days, seems like there's a lot of women going through some postop depression so that's bound to make some of them feel better! I'm not even 2 full days postop as of yet, so I'm experiencing a good bit of soreness, swelling, and bruising...Don't feel depressed or anything yet, so hopefully I can keep a positive outlook until 4 weeks!

Me too!!! If you would have said I'd like them last week, I would have said oh yeah right. BUT that week has made a WORLD of difference. Kinda proud of them now. It also helps that I can wear nicer clothes now

Yes it does take at least 4 weeks. That was the longest four weeks for me. I had mine done Dec. 5th and finally have felt great the last 3 days now. My nipples aren't as sore and they are starting to show some change like dropping a bit. It does take tons of patience. I'm not a very patient person either. Good luck. It will happen.

Pretty amazing huh?

I will hit 4 wks. PO on Thursday and this week I also feel alot more like my old self (with the addition of huge boobs of course...lol) I really struggled when I went back to work...I was very unhappy and depressed but this week I feel as if a ray of sunshine is over my head while it is busy snowing inches & inches here. I'm glad it gets better because I was a wreck! There is hope for all of you in earlier stages of recovery who feel awful. Hang in there and take care ; )

I totally agree with Petite Girl. I've been a little discouraged with being so tired and still very stiff and sore. I'm glad that thread came back!:-)

Way to go! Thanks for the encouraging post. I'll be 2 weeks post-op this Friday, so I'm almost halfway there
I can't wait to tuck the girls in a good sport bra and get out for a run. Running gives me my balance in life and I don't feel like myself without it. I can wait it out....recovery is such a short amount of time when compared to the rest of my life with beautiful boobs.

Isn't it a great feeling; I remember when I had that break-through! Once you get past the initial rocky period, things only get better, you will fall more and more in love with your new breasts. My fav part was/is seeing the different changes they go through. What a great and encouraging thread.

Good for you! But do be careful with the quadrathlon stuffs, wouldn't want to jepoardize your healing journey. I couldn't even think about what you did at 4 weeks, wait, what am I saying? Can't even think about it now
