Anyone have regrets at first?
Help! I am 2 weeks post-op and totally regret having my BA. I feel so abnormal now. I thought I was positive that I wanted them before but my opinion has totally changed. It doesnt help anything that my PS went bigger than we had discussed. I am so ready to get them removed. Am I being crazy?

2 weeks post-op is still early out and talking from personal experience my boobs were still swollen at that stage. Give it a little time I;m sure swelling will go down and you won't look as big. It's such a big change you have to adjust to the new boobs I think in time you will love them more. Especially when you can get them out properly. I've had some boobie blues lately but last night I went outt o show them off for the first time and now I love them more than ever!
I wouldn't have them removed but I totally understand the feeling of wanting them out. I promise in time you'll feel better, they slowly begin to feel more like part of you and not so 'abnormal'. About the PS going bigger most girls have the problem of the PS being like no you can't go bigger than XXX so count yourself lucky you won't fall victim to boobie greed! I'm sure they look great

BA surgery can be such an emotional roller coaster. Hang in there! You are only 2 weeks PO. You will have swelling for atleast 4 more weeks. Some people have swelling even longer than that. You have a ton of changes ahead. I bet you will love them by 6 weeks.

I don't really regret them, but I am definitely wishing recovery wasn't so long. I feel like I went through all this to get these things that still don't look right, can't show, and can't enjoy and so forth. Especially at this stage when I check them every 5 minutes to make sure all is OK. So, I think what you feel is normal. Once all things are healed, I'm sure (and hope) you won't feel that way.
I went out yesterday, and my bf kept making fun of me that it looked like I had shoulder pads on because of how I like..I dunno...I'm like scared to drop my shoulders or something so I am all uptight. And that got me down, but I know once they are healed and if all goes well, I'll love em. |

In my experience once the pain goes away completely and you can presume your life as you did pre-BA you will actually forget that you had any pain, doubts, etc. I remember feeling a whole range of emotions within the first month post-BA and now they feel as much a part of me as if I had never had the surgery. I know you might get this a lot but time, time, time....just give it time. The more time that passes you might find yourself surprised that they start to look (and feel!) smaller to you. Hang in there....it only gets better from here!

I have not felt regretful... I just did not realize what a process the recovery would be. I have been wondering when this tight feeling would go away... I just started massaging the other day... so hopefully that will help things start to feel normal. I hope that you feel better. I hope that things will go back to normal for everyone in recovery soon!

I just had mine done yesterday (8.8.08), and I am very emotional as well!! I do freak out once or twice a day b/c I don't like the feeling of something foreign in my body. However, my surgeon did exactly as I asked, and I only wanted a full B. I had 234 Allergan gels in my left, 112 cc gels in my right. I actually kinda panicked thinking I should have gone bigger, but everytime I look in the mirror I can't stop thinking how great I look! If I were any bigger, I would be very upset b/c I would feel heavy and fake looking... I just have to keep forcing myself to think positively, and people get implants everday and are fine! I think once I am out of pain, I will feel 100x better-I bet you will too
Especially when I finally drop and fluff!

Sorry girl. I know it can be such an emotional rollercoaster. Give it some time, for your body to adjust and hopefully your hormones/emotions will follow! It's still so early! I don't regret getting them, though I am a bit impatient with the whole recovery process even if it has been a good one so far! Hope you feel better about your decision!

YES!!!
I hated them at first, totally regretted the surgery, and thought they were WAY to big. I would cry when I was by myself, and thought they looked awful. The swelling went down a ton though, and after about a month you start getting used to them, and see them from a more realistic persepective and feel less obvious. I'm also bigger than I wanted to be initially. The only thing I can tell you is that at 2 weeks you really don't have a genuine clue as to if it was worth it. If you would have asked me then I would have wanted them out. Now?? Happy as a clam in sand ![]() Hang in there, it'll get better. |

What exactly is it you are regreting? Is it anything in particular, or is it just the whole thing in general? Just trying to get some insight into what you're feeling. Chin up, sweetie. I bet you'll feel better soon.

I was right there with you. I felt guilty, scared, sad, too BIG. Everything. I actually ask the doc to take them out at my week appointment. He said to wait atleast 2 more weeks...so I did, and decided to keep them. At 3 weeks I was still a little scared, but now I would NEVER take them out. I am thinking, "how was my brain so crazy at the time?" But it is true, it is a very huge emotional roller coaster, BUT IT WILL GET BETTER!!!! I thought I was seriously gonna be depressed the rest my life, if I got better, I KNOW you will too. Your body just needs time to adjust, heal, and feel normal again
To tell you the truth, NOW......I wish I was bigger, and I NEVER NEVER NEVER thought I would EVER feel like that! I wont get a redo just for that though, I am happy....and soon YOU WILL BE TOO! Goodluck girl!

Thank you all for responding. I hope I will start to feel better soon. It is not the pain than is bothering me though the morning boob really sucks!...its the having something in my body that doesnt belong and them being way too huge for my frame (I am 5'6 - 125 lbs.). I look like a walking set of fake boobies. I HATE that everytime someone sees me the first thing they will see is my chest. I mostly wanted a BA because I wanted to feel more confident with my husband in the bedroom and maybe for a bikini. I needed some fullness after breastfeeding my 3 babies and I got it all right. I WONT wear a bikini now because I am totally embarrassed. I went shirt shopping today to try and find clothes I could hide in better but had virtually no luck. I wanted to be a C and I came out more like a D if not bigger. I expressed my concerns to my PS prior to surgery but I guess he thought bigger would work for me?? I just hope this gets easier...
