i had my surgery on wednesday and still havnt gone "number 2". haha i am taking stool softners, but no laxitives. i am no longer on pain meds so not sure why i am still constipated. i have been drinking water and juice like a maniac. i am eating a TON of fibre. more than normal.

my belly is ROCK HARD and bigger than my boobs i think hahaha. its the most uncomfertable part of this whole thing, its the only part of me feeling pain. just crampy kind of pressue. it is literally like a rock ,i have never seen it like this before. plus, i get my "monthly gift" on monday so i am sure that isnt helping!

when will i finally go the bathroom and not look like santa claus??

You will go eventually, but if I were you I would probably take a laxative and drink lots of water! I hate to be constipated! Good Luck!

Try Miralax.....after having done this twice now, I think the trick is to start taking stool softner BEFORE or immedately right after 'cause they just don't seem to do the trick for me. I started taking Miralax and it seems to have helped.

Oh and while my "gift" is usually regular, after my BA it disappeared for three months, finally dr gave me a pill to jump start my system. Wondering if it's gonna happen to me this time. I think it's fairly common.

Take 1 tablespoon before going to bed and you should go number two the next day. It is colorless and odorless. You can buy it all Walgreens or any major store.

ick. constipation is the worse. I too, stopped pain meds, eating and drinking correctly, AND even started taking suppositories..and only THAN would I go. and it would be horrible!! But if I didn't take the suppository, I'd get bloated and stuff again..
In my situation, I discovered my new birth control pills were doing it.. once I stopped taking them I am becoming regular again..
Not sure IF you are taking the same pills.. but just thought I'd share that info.. just in case.

what brith control are you taking? i have been taking then same pill since i was about 14 (for cramping) and i just turned 21 so i didnt think that would be effecting it but could be!! i never thought i would look so forward for a trip to the bathroom haha. i really hopes its tonight!!!

Yep take a laxitive.. Miralax is GREAT, but it takes a day or 2 for me... I am 6 weeks out & I swear I am still struggling a teeny bit with it...

Before my BA I read this tip from someone else who tried it and it worked for her so I tried it too. It worked like a charm within a couple hours and I never felt crampy or bloated afterward. It even tasted good. Buy a bottle of magnesium citrate (costs about $2) and drink the whole thing followed by a bottle of water. It comes in a glass bottle in different flavors. I tried the cherry and it tasted kinda like cherry soda. I found it at CVS, but they probably carry it at any pharmacy. I dont know what you have already tried and would hate for you to over do it and end up with the runs so be careful. GL!
