Feeling sick

Did anyone else feel sick and nauseous? And how long before it went away. I'm in my third day and still cant get out of bed or eat normally.
Thanks

I was sooooo sick and nauteous and I think on day four my friend picked me up to take me to my post op appointment and she looked at me and was shocked by how ill I looked. She was thinking I was going to have to go to the hospital and be put on IV because I hadnt been able to eat or drink anything for past three days. She went into a health food store for me and taked to the salesperson there and they told me to take ginger capsules and that they were very fast acting. Well about half an hour later things were already starting to improve and within a few hours I was back to my old self and eating well again Apparently ginger pills will help with the swelling as well, but I would just double check with your PS before taking any supplements just to be safe. Hope that is helpful! (Oh and I had to stop take the pain killers and just switch to tylenol to get my stomach to calm down)

This definately happened to me too! I actually vomitted for 12 hours straight, then off and on for 3 days. I thought it was the pain meds, but it was the anesthics (Sp???). After day 3 it was much better and I was able to take Tramadol for pain killers, escpecially helpful to sleep at night. I had crackers and Gatorade by my bed for 4 days and this helped immensely. It definately gets better!

The ginger pills is an excellent idea too!

Happy!!!!!!!!!!!!
My best advice: have realistic expectations, communicate clearly about what size you want, and only go with a PS with a fabulous reputation of excellence!

sometimes constipation will give you nausea as well. Apologies if TMI.. but pain killers sometimes stop you up.. make sure you are being "regular".

Red face bleh!

I always get sick after surgeries (I've had 8, but only one on my breasts). At any rate they give me something in my IV to help with the nausea, and also put this little patch behind my ear that I had to wear for the first three days after the breast augmentation. It seemed to help with the nausea but after I took it off I found myself getting sick to my stomach. I would say that has something to do with the pain killers (percocets) they sent me home with. I'm Post-Op day 4 and still not completely feeling normal yet!
