I think it (like most everything) depends on your PS.
Mine said to apply nothing at all untill the scabs fell off on their own. It took about 3 weeks. |

I started using lotion with cocoa butter in it before surgery and still use it now every couple days. I just avoid the incesion area. I bought the palmers lotion with the pregnant leady on it. Has worked wonders.....dont have any stretch marks!

I started using cocoa butter about 3 months before my surgery...I wasn't able to put any lotion on my breasts until 24 hours post op..and I had to avoid my incision area. I don't have a single stretch mark. I don't know if the cocoa butter worked or perhaps I just wasn't in the making to get them. However, check with your ps's office. GL and congrats on your surgery!

I am verrrrrry prone to stretch marks - have a ton from being pregnant. So, I started with coca butter (palmer's) about 2 weeks pre-op. Then, 24 hours after I began using bio-oil and palmer's - avoiding the incision. Seems to be working so far (crossing fingers).
The only rule was that I couldn't get anything on my incision except the anti-bacterial ointment my PS had me buy. |

Like the others, I have been lotioning the babies since a few weeks before surgery (paying closer attention anyhow - I use lotion everywhere every day anyway). After surgery, my PSs nurse said I was fine to continue just to stay away from the incision site. I have used cocoa butter, Jason's vitamin e, and aquaphor depending on my mood since the big day. For the first two weeks I religiously stuck to tops and cleavage only. In this last week I have moved to the underside but still staying away from the incision site until my month post-op next week (and longer if they say). Good luck!

I love Palmer's cocoa butter!!! I massage mine with it three times a day. I have no stretch marks thus far. It keeps that skin nice and soft.

I never asked my PS but when I talked to ladies on the forum they said it helped with the strecthing pain, so I started yesterday (3-4days out) avoiding all incision areas and I have to say it makes a huge difference with the pain. It helps tremendously!

I googled things that help with stretch marks. I bought trofolastin which is an anti-stretch cream from Europe. It wasn't that expensive, about 30 bucks. Then I also bought cocoa butter. I had a few light stretch marks before the BA so I know I am susceptible to them. I have been slathering my breasts down about 2x a day with both the trofolastin and the cocoa butter and intend to continue doing so for a longggg time. Hopefully this will help and prevent any future ones.

I really never thought of using it at all - thanks for the info regarding it. I'll make sure to apply extra generous amounts for my redo
