Skin burning/flaking but not on boobs...

I am officially 3 weeks post-op and this last week has been interesting. I am thrilled that my morning boob seems to be decreasing, my boobs are getting lower and softer, and massage is no longer excruciating. Still a ways to go I know, but it feels good to see some progress!

Now, on another related/unrelated note...I have an odd issue that I was hoping someone might be able to relate to...

Monday morning when I got out of the shower I had bright red splotches running down the front of both arms that looked and felt like a bad sunburn. Since then the skin has begun to flake off (despite aquaphor, shea butter, and vitamin e treatments) and it still feels burned. The skin underneath is healthy and does not appear harmed but the burning feeling is still there.

I am not on the narcotics anymore, have not been since about day 5, I have also been able to ween myself completely off of ibuprofen in the last week as well.

At my PSs instruction I am still taking arnica montana and bromelain but otherwise I have resumed my normal meds (birth control and flexoril for TMJ).

The only thing still different from my normal routine is the dial antibacterial soap that I have been using since the week before surgery (at PSs recommendation) and the gauze and paper tape over the incisions (have read that some folks react to that). The issue I have is not near the incision site or the boob area at all.

The only other commonality between both arms and nowhere else is the local anesthetic they injected for the IV at surgery. They did both arms because they could not get to my vein in the right one.

Sorry to babble but I wanted to answer as many questions up front as I could. My initial reaction is that this is a flare up of excema based on how drying the dial bodywash can be. But would that start after two full weeks? As you ladies can see, I am baffled. Any help would be sincerely appreciated!

I am doing the same thing but it is on my face. I do have excema also and thought that perhaps it was the rehydration with IV fluids post op that caused it to peel like that. Other than that I did get fat grafting to my lips so maybe something to do with that...?????? Im just as baffled as you are!! Sorry for not being much help!

At least I am not alone - that happened to my face as well - right about where you are in recovery! My entire face and neck peeled of in sheets the first week. My skin there is still not completely recovered - looks fine, but still sensitive. Since I lost the top half of my skin that is not surprising. Then this week the shoulders and arms started! Hopefully someone can come along and help us understand this crazy phenomenon! Thanks for sharing!

I noticed that too. I just got Elite status today and I assumed my board would come back but it hasn't yet. So I can see others but not mine. I will post some pics in the next few days - I had not planned on doing it yet and the Elite status sort of crept up on me! Maybe I should check with Nikki - it could be an issue based on the new board rules?

ETA: When I went to PM Ivy since she is currently online, I got a message that I had disabled PMs. It seems when you achieve Elite status this is the default. I went into my CP and sure enough I was able to turn my board and PMs back on! Yay! All set now!
