![]() | home, please help
i got home at 7 tonight. it is now 12 midnight. he gave me t3's for pain which he said every 4 hours. i woke up after exactly 4 hours with searing pain in my right breast. i thought it was a heart attck. one i got help to sit up i was ok, but i ttok the pain meds asap. i jut waiting now for them to kick in. sorry typing is bad, i can't move too much. why is one soooo mcuh more sore than the other? i can't take a deep breath. he sent me home with that band thing around the top. i don't care - i pulled it off. i had to, i couldn't breathe, it was so tight. the minute i took it off there was immed. relief. i was wondering if i could piggy back the t3's with advil? so this doesn't happen again? i will also cut and paste this to ask a surgeon - maybe one is up now. i am calling dr. in the am. the chest pain feels like its behind the implant on the right side - right against my chest wall, like i said - i thought it was a heart attack. i have lots of help, dh is sleeping beside me on the lr floor, i am propped up on the couch, but thses t3s are not helping me sleep, the pain is bad. i hope it's better tomorrow. can i do teh advil and t3s? thanks and sorry for bad post. |

No Advil. Ibuprofen=blood thinner=bad. Call them in the morning and ask for stronger meds. If they have a website, go to it and see if they have an on-call nurse for emergencies. If so, call right now and ask what you can do.

The strap bothered me as well, I took it off and readjusted it a little bit looser than what they had it at. The pain on my right side was a lot more intense as well. If someone is there to help you have them wake you every couple of hours and give you the T3 so you can stay out of pain. I would call in the morning and tell them it isn't strong enough and get some Vicoden or something. Sorry your feeling horrible, hope you get some sleep! |

Don't take advil and keep the strap on!! Also don't panic- it IS painful and you are in the worst of it. Just try and take deep breaths and don't worry because it will pass. I was having such intense pain, I left a message on my plastic surgeon's emergency number (something I would NEVER do unless it was THAT bad), and he said I could take another vicodin with the dosage I was already on, and move it to three hours. This REALLY helped for the first 4 days which were pretty awful for me. Hang in there!!

yes i would see if your dr. would perscribe percocet. i didnt have as extreme pain as you are describing but i was only on half a perc like ever 2-3 hrs and since it is a type of morphine it would knock me right our for a those few hrs. i feels so bad for you. i hope that your plastic surgeon gets you something a little stronger than T3's.

Yes, and I forgot to add to stay upright all night because if you were to be completely on your back it pulls the pecs too much that first week.

Well I called the dr. and he said he doesn't prescribe anything stronger than t3s. But I was to take Advil in between. He said doubling up for the first few days is fine. I didn't even ask about the advil part, I just asked for percs. lol... I have to admit that I was worried about the advil after what i've read here and all the ladies saying no to advil. I asked him about increased bleeding and he assured me it was fine. He is also the one who told me not to worry about stopping the vitamins pre-op, or anything else as well. He is a super awesome dr., just a different way of doing things, I guess. A few minutes ago I coughed, I thought I was going to die. But I guess not because I'm still here. ![]() I hope things get better soon - I know I'm only 22 hours post-op - but I'm impatient and would like to have some more mobility. |
