sore nipples?

ok, I am 2 weeks and 2 days post op and my nipples are so sore. I know it is normal to lose feeling or sensation in your nipples for awhile but I am having the opposite effect. My nipples seem hyper-sensitive. Just having my shirt brush against them is painful. Sometimes I also have a burning pain in one of them. I am sure this is TMI but they are also hard 24 hrs a day. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so how long did it last?

Thanks

Hi, I am one month post-op today.I went through the same thing as you and, I am still going through it. However, the pain has subsided. It is still there but, not as bad at all. I think once your's start to soften you will feel alot better. just take it easy I know how bad it hurts and it's annoying! Take pain pills if you still have them. It will get better.

i'm a little baffled by this as well. i'm only day 2 post-op but mine are ultra sensitive. i didn't realize this could happen - i'd only heard of losing some sensation.

Nuby will become famous soon enough
Mine were like that for about two weeks if I remember correctly. I put cotton rounds between me and the bras for a while and that helped some. Eventually the swelling caused those to even hurt from indents! A good friend who had just gotton through breastfeeding turned me on to lanisoh (lanolin for breast feeding mothers) and cooling gel pads. All of this can be found in any drugstore in the infant section! Good luck - and it does pass!

Mine are still like that too. Anything that touches or rubs up against them hurts. My nipples are always erect too. I am just dealing with it and hoping that it will eventually go away. I guess it is the price we pay for pretty boobs.

Me too...one week Post Op and feeling super sensitive. Having my sports bra on makes it better. But, I think I am going to try massaging all over with Bio Oil to see if it helps.

It took me 6 weeks to get over the nipple sensitivity and pain. In my case, I went through a week when they felt like they had been papered cut to hell! I was terrible. PS said nothing could be done..just cover them with bandage to help with rubbing against clothing. Hang in there.

I still have times when my nipples are ultra sensitive, and I had my BA in July.

My lefty was numb, and righty was HYPER sensative. It sucked. I could hardly wear a seatbelt!! I am almost 8 weeks out and they are both feeling much better. I can feel the left one a little and the right one is calming down a ton. Much better. Hang in there!

I am three weeks tomorrow and my nipples are still very sore. At first I lost all feeling in my left, but a few days ago it just got painful like my right, it even hurts to dry off after a shower!!! I hope the feeling goes back to normal...not painful

I never lost sensation in my nips and their alway erect. like headlights ! but today super senseative and massage with lotion did help but i know I have to wear loose clothes and go easy on the sports bra not to push them too much. I don't have pain, just discomfort... I'm happy tho that they are alive and talking back hehe
hope you feel better soon
