Exclamation help! showering post op?

Soo i had my re-do on Wed.... it's now sunday.. My PS's nurse reccomended not taking a shower until Monday and not removin the bra at all! usually it's 48 hours but she wanted me to wait because of it being a re-do for bottoming out. She said if i could absolutely not wait to take a shower, i could on Sat. and leave the bra on and then change to a diff bra. Well i waited and its sunday, the gaws on my left side (the side that had most the work done for bottoming out) are off and you can move them and see the incision/steri strip.. but on the right side there must have been some bleeding so the gaws are stuck to the incision because of some dry blood.. arent they going to need to see the insision tomorrow? (i have my check up appt w/ my PS) so im wondering if i need to shower to un-stick the gaws from my insision/steri strip on my right side.. what do you think?
thanks!!@!

I javnt had mine yet, but in my opinion, i would leave it be, and they will unstick it tomorrow. if the ps said it would be in your best intrest not to shower til tomorrow, i wouldnt risk it. id get a sink full of water and a rag and soap, and spongebath my self, or get dh to do it. just my opinion!!! its only 1 more day!

I would wait another day as well. And if you still have to keep the incisions dry there is always cling wrap
Good luck!

I understand how you feel...I absolutely can't go without taking shower or shampooing even for a day.

I'd listen to PS if I were you. I see this is your re-do. I won't risk anything now by taking shower a day before the appointment. Maybe use some "wipes" just for a day? Take care

thanks everyone! i actually took a bath, well just sat in it yesterday without getting my back or chest wet and my DH washed my hair in the sink. I just didnt know if they would have a hard time unsticking my gaws from the insision tomorrow at the appt.

I am glad you could at least enjoy a bath

I attempted a shower yesterday as well (Day 5) and it ended up being such a circus that I wrote about it in my blog (check my profile!).

Aaahhh, the implications of new boobies *lol*!!
You are lucky your DH could wash your hair!
Good luck!
