Day 5 Blues. Boo hoo.
So I am on day 5 and I am MISERABLE. I have been crying all day. I'm not in crazy pain as much as general tightness and discomfort but I'm sooooooooooooo tired and I get dizzy if I'm out of bed for more than a few minues. Mentally I'm not doing so well either. I keep thinking this was a dumb idea, I miss my small boobs and mobility and that I'm going to regret this.
Why do I feel so crappy on day 5 and every one else is so happy and healthy. What's wrong with me? Why am I such a hot mess? You are all so strong. Ladies I need your help!

aww, I'm sorry you're having a rough day. I think everyone goes back and forth after making such a big decision, but I'm sure once you're feeling better you'll be happy you went through with it. Take it easy, and I hope you feel better!

I'm so sorry your having a hard time. It gets BETTER it really really does.
I just had my second BA and it was SOOO much easier, really no pain at all. I cant take the pain pills, they make me too emotional and SICK. I do much better without them. I did have some emotional days but I think it had to do with the general feeling of discomfort or not being able to do the simple things your used to. It passes and you will FEEL GREAT again. Hang in there! We are all here for you! |

Sorry to hear. I had those days and am still having those days. I had my BA on 10/30/08 and each day it does get better. On day 2 I got sick from my pain medication and had to stop taking. I couldn't sleep at night due to the fact that I am a stomach sleeper. I started taking Tylenol PM to help me get some rest. I had the same feelings and was mad at myself for doing this to my body. I'm almost 3 weeks out and feel much better and feel better each day about my decision. But I felt like you, everyone else seems to be jumping up and down for joy about their new boobs (and why shouldn't they be). I think we all react differently or expected different things going into it. I know when it is bikini time, I will be in a much better mood.
Give it time, I think as the weeks go by you will feel better with your decision. |

Anesthesia is a downer, that's why you feel so blue. Pretty much everyone goes through what you are going through and it does get much better. After my first ba, I missed my small boobs too. Especially because they looked so weird. I couldn't believe what I had done to myself. But once they settle, you will like them much better. Just be patient and give it time. What you are feeling is normal. Good Luck sweetie. Hope you're feeling better soon.

I'm with you! I'm not one of the strong women, I'm exactly where you are, feeling the exact same things. I wish I had some advice or something but I don't, I just wanted you to know that you're not alone in feeling these things.

Your feelings are so normal. Just cause most of us post our happy moments doesn't mean we haven't had our bad ones. On day 2 for me I got really sick, nauseated, tingling in my arms, dry heaving(from not eating with my meds)I was freaking thinking my body was some how rejecting my implants. I kept thinking to myself why why why did I do this to myself, I was just fine the way I was. Then my hubby called my PS office on day 3 and they told me to try to get off meds as soon as I could. I stopped taking them that day and everything was so much better. I wasn't sick anymore and I had my wits about me to handle everything else. Just take things one day at a time. It will get better. Those meds can really play tricks with your mind!!

Ugh it sounds like those dang pain meds may be upsetting you emotionally - I know they make me depressed whenever I've had to take them. Hopefully you can get by w/ Tylenol. Best of luck to you - I know you will love your new boobs and that the excitement will set in too!!!

Yep, I am feeling it too, ladies. I am on Day 6 now and although I am not in the amount of pain that I was in 2 days ago, the tightness is insane! It's as though every time I get up and walk around ( because being non-active is a very depressing thing for me) my boobs tighten up and I am pretty much immobilized! I am off to my first post-op appt. today so I took the time to put my make-up on and try to style my hair best as I could and have to say, it is a little bit of a pick-me-up so hang in there.......I would definitely suggest doing something small like applying make-up to help with those blues even when you're feeling icky. Big hugs

You'll have ups and downs, but it will get better overall. I'm only 3.5 weeks post-op but my recovery has been a series of "plateaus" so far- felt the same for several days then would wake up one day suddenly feeling better. Seems to be in cycles of about 4-5 days. I hit my emotional low at 2.5 weeks (see frustrated with length of recovery thread) but bounced back quickly after that. Certainly the meds are affecting you, but also the inabilities and restrictions that you have now are frustrating. As you find yourself starting to do things "the normal way" instead of constantly compensating for the fact that your arms/pecs are useless you'll start to have a brighter outlook.
Hang in there!! |
