Hello Girls I hope every one is enjoying their day today. Well yesterday was my one-week post op appointment and my PS told me everything looks normal and im doing great. He told me that in two weeks i can take off my stitch type and i should start massaging them five times a day everyday. BUT the one thing that he said to me that seem wired and im now questioning is that I SHOULD NOT WEAR A BRA till they drop. Just to wear the band. Once that happens i can wear a regular bra. Have any of you girls been ask to do the same by ur PS???Thanks a million ur advise will have a great deal ![]() |

Hmm..I just had my 1 week post-op this week and I was told to *definitely* wear a very supportive underwire bra. Underwire to create and maintain cleavage. I was also told to wear a sports bra to bed along with a breast band until they "settle."
I did get the massage exercises instructed also 5-6x a day. Although it hurt alot to do it, I am starting to notice the breasts feeling a bit softer each time. |

I never had a band to wear but had a compression bra. I had to wear that uncomfortable bra for 15 days till my appt. Then he told me to wear a bra at all times. I can wear an underwire @ my 3 month date. I even wear a cami to bed with the built in bra. Every doctor is different so if your doc says to not wear one I wouldn't. You should trust your doc. Good luck

I feel ya
At least you have a band or something to wear to help yours from riding too high, etc. I had nothing. Post op (immediately after surgery, I mean) I had no bandage, band, support bra, etc. Just internal stitches (ugh. always hate them kind.) The post-op instructions sheet said a bra could be worn after 1 week. you can also learn alot from others' experiences.
And no, though some may argue with me, you can't ALWAYS trust the doc because there are some out there that 1. dont care or are 2 incompetent. But it sounds like yours knows best. The band sounds like a good idea though it is so tempting to wear a bra NOW. Really, it's your choice. I wear underwire bras long enough to go places (Wal-mart, etc) but that's it. |

I didn't wear a bra because my boobies were up high and my doctor said I would be fine. If you go to a good surgeon, you don't have to worry about any mishaps...at least in my opinion. He made my pockets small enough to hold the implants in place, but large enough to not have any other issues. I am almost 3 months and very happy that I let them drop. I gotta start getting myself back to wearing bras though...I have become very comfortable not wearing them now. haha

I was instructed to wear a sports bra for the first 2 weeks, and a sports bra or a bralette for weeks 3 and 4, and that it was perfectly OK to go braless. So, I don't think your ps is off base.

I am instructed to wear this band accross the top until i see him at my two week appt! At that time he will decide if he wants me to wear it longer! But under NO circumstances am I to wear a bra of any kind until at least 6 wks post op! BUT he will see me BEFORE then and make the decision of what type of bra I can wear etc! I hope to not have to wear this band after next wednesday but will if he wants.
And I am more than ok with not wearing a bra for this time too!

I was thinking as reading the PS advice may vary per patient. many people on here said they received the advice regarding bras after seeing PS for post-op appt. I am thinking maybe he makes the decision depending on how things are looking
I received a paper in advance to surgery saying not to wear any underwire for 6 to 8 weeks so they dont affect the shape on the implants

i saw my ps the day after surgery and he took of the strap then. he said that "gravity is your friend" and if i felt comfortable not wearing a bra then i should let nature take its course to help with dropping
![]() and actually . . i feel MUCH better not wearing a bra, so it's been nice! everything is so tight already, the bra was just making me feel more constricted. hope that helps!

I was looking at your web page...THANK YOU!!! It is so informative
I am going to have my BA on Dec 5th. I also am quite petite..5' 95lbs. I have been going back and forth on size and it is driving my nuts!!! You look amazing by the way! I am a full A now and am trying to achieve a full B (a natural look). I have a very narrow frame so my PS recommended me going with a HP silicone implant, partial at 200cc's. I am just hoping that will give me the fullness I am trying to get. I never realized how confusing picking a size would be!!!

My PS told me "no underwire" for about a month. I was also instructed to wear a tube bra over my babies so they get squeezed down post OP.
