Are you still on your pain meds? Sometimes that will cause a problem. Also, are you drinking enough fluid? If you are dehydrated, you may not have much urine.
I guess I'm asking if it feels like a physical issue - you have to pee but just can't? Or an issue of not enough fluid in your system... Either way, I would call your PS office an ask them about it. Good luck! |

My first week post op I had a hard time as well. I was still on my pain meds so maybe that did have something to do with it. I could pee but, I had to think about it and kind of use my muscles to push it out. Sorry if that is TMI. I did go back to normal if that helps. Good Luck

Yeah I did, usually I drink a lot of water and pee a lot but for some reason I just couldn't the first few days. I was barely drinking any water though, and was on pain meds, don't know which or both affected it. I started drinking a ton of water and it just started back up again

Yes. I had to stop taking my pain meds. I had to go but just couldn't. In the end I managed to go which was good because the hospital said I may have to go in to have a catheter

I had a hard time too. I started drinking more fluids. I think it is from the surgery...keep pushing liquids.

I've had a difficult time urinating as well. Had the same problem the only other time I went under when I had my wisdom teeth extracted. I'm almost certain its due to the pain pills. Good luck!

I recall this problem, too, but from past experience with another surgery I know that pain meds can make it really difficult to both urinate and pass bowel movements. I think it's totally normal and it will go away once the meds are out of your system. Hang in there and happy healing!
