Hi everyone,
My silcone strips are peeling and I feel like they're about to come off and it's only been 2.5 weeks. I tried to tape them back on with a bandaid (stupid idea) because when I tried to remove the bandaid I made it worse (obviously). The skin under is very pink and I'm terrified they will rupture open and my boob will fall out! Help. how long did your silicone strips last - anyone have them off aftr 2.5 weeks ??

Hmm...thats weird, at my 10 day mark my surgeon took mine off for me! It was even in the packet of instructions I got before my surgery that at the 1 day mark you should remove them...try calling your surgeon and ask him/her. But other than that i'm sure that you'll be fine! Dont be scared!

I'm sorry, kind of off topic... but what exactly are silicone strips and do you only use them if you have silicone implants?? LOL I'm sure the answer is no but I've never heard of them before!

before I mislead anyone... I think what I meant was steristrips. perhaps someone can tell us if that is the same as silicone strips? it's just a small band of white tape which is taped along the incision.

My ps had me remove my steri strips after about 8 days. My scars were pink too. I had internal stitches that dissolved. I have a few permanent internal sutures as well, and you might too! I don't think you have to worry about your boob falling out.

But, if you are worried, definitely give your ps a call - that's what we pay them for!!

You can purchase steri strips at the pharmacy or convalescent store. But like the others suggested, call your PS. It's probably not a big deal.

My doctor removed mine, but he told me if they fell off that was alright. I had mine removed on day 15. Hope this helps.

My PS told me if they don't fall off by the third week mark to take them off my self so I'm sure u being 2.5 weeks mark Ur fine. Don't worry
