Got my new boobs yesterday and Im thrilled

Hi everybody,

Firstly i want to thank you all so much for your words of encouragement, advice
and good wishes over the last few weeks since I joined jbi.

Well yesterday was the day for me and thank god im still alive (worst fear was not waking up)

Well when I got there i was surprisingly calm even though I must have given of the signal that i was extremely nervous as the consultant asked me if i would like to go first...i must have thought i was ok...anyway, my 3 yo clung to me yesterday morning as i'd say she knew there was something going on as my brother and his wife were there to take them to the creche..poor little mites i cant wait to see them this evening..

had a chat with the consultant and thought i would nearly have to have a row with him to get at least a 260-280 out of him but i was quite surprised as he was very professional, caring etc and said he hoped to get me to a b or c so i was happy with that..

so down i went and put out...woke up in pain but sure expected that..
he gave me a 260cc on the left and 280cc on the right which i was extremely happy about. they are swollen a bit and sore and kinda point outwards a bit..he said once i wear the bra they will push in..i had a look at my before phots that dh took and they were slightly outward anyway so i suppose were all different shapes and sizes anyway.

so im on 3 diff types of tabs..a antiinflamatory, an antibiotic and a painkiller..im just taking them all together at the same time..i assume thats ok?

also just wanted to ask how often to change the dressing..he said i could shower after 48 hours which would mean tomorrow so i was just going to change the dressing daily after my shower..

back to see the nurse in 10 days and then back to see him in 6 wks.

so all in all im so thrilled with the outcome..so far im so happy with the size that im glad i didnt go any bigger/smaller...maybe in a few weeks when im not sore i will start to wonder but at the moment im delighted.

so im sure i will be on with lots and lots of questions over the next few days!!

thanks again for everything girls i would of been lost without yas!!

Hi Pleased you are doin ok, you are lucky i have not had a shower for 1 week my ps said not to.
Had the dressings off today and the cuts dont look too bad although i am pleased they are out of sight. I had 280s and its made me a full c which I am surprised about as you could see my ribs even after 3 kids and breastfeeding them all. Not fair.
Still feel like rocks on day 8 but better by the end of each day.
Hey watch the alcohol with your pain killers I forgot and drank 2 large glasses of red wine - the kids said I was sat on the settee talking rubbish for 2 hours. LOL

hi all

well today im starting to have a few panick attacks about everything and what if something goes wrong..its probably best for me to stay away from the complications forum though as im driving myself mad reading what may go wrong.

all in all though it hasnt been too bad..felt a bit sick today though and was sick after the op on thursday too....i may just cut out the painkillers and only take them as i need them instead of 3 times a day as the pain is not too bad today.

Had a shower this morning and all went well...theres little white strips under neath (i assume they are the stiches) so i didnt touch them just changed the dressing..i was going to change the dressing once daily..would this be right or would i need to do it more than once...also in my little leaflet it said to massage after 2 weeks but nobody told me how...im back with the nurse next monday so that will be a week and half and should ask her then...do i need creams or anything to rub onto the scar or will i check with nurse?

thanks for all the advice girls..

hi ya...glad ur up and about today...
I wasnt allowed to touch my dressings at all for 7 days...so if your're not doing it enough at the moment, i wouldnt worry...in fact, i couldnt shower either for 7 days...so i smelt a bit too(not really, i washed good)he didnt want the incisions wet AT ALL... now, i wasnt told about massaging either, til i went at 7 days to get stitches removed, so dont fret about it that either...ask nurse when you see her....creams....unless they tell you to, DONT rub anything on them....i wasnt told to rub anything on them til week 8,,, i read on here everyone rubbing cocoa butter in so i joined in again, only to really annoy my scars, which prob put me back about a week....
So, all in all, unless you got no obvious signs of a prob, wait til u see the nurse, and only do what they tell you, not what u read on here....cos every ps has his own idea, and although it varies so greatly, we all seem to come thru with the advice of our ps'.....take care x

Congratulations sweetie. I had my re-do on Wednesday and thankfully everything went well. Drink lots of water to flush the anesthesia out of your system.

I stayed in 3 nights as I couldn't leave until the drains were removed, but I was told I could shower when I got home with my back to the water and be careful not to soak the dressings- a quick shower". I think the main thing is to keep them as dry as possible. Like Anne my dressings weren't touched for 7 days- when my ps removed them, so I wouldn't worry about not changing them often enough. I didn't have my stitches removed they were dissolvable ones- I just assumed everyone had these. My ps told me to use a small amount of moisturiser on the scars so they didn't tighten while they healed. I've read loads on here about stuff for scars but when I asked my ps today if I should use rose hip oil or silicone scar sheets he said to carry on with the moisturiser and def not use the silicone sheets unless the scar goes 'raised' or doesn't heal properly. I think they all have their own opinions. Rest up and let your body heal.

Sorry, i didnt explain it well...they were dissolvable, so i guess it was more a wound check, but some were still there, so they took them out then
