This is kind of gross...and embarrassing

Okay. I have noticed something really gross...something I never thought to ask my PS.

I get almost like dried milk around the center of my nipples! That has NEVER happened before my BA. Every morning I have to get either tweezers or a Q Tip and clean it out! It's so nasty! I want to see if anyone else has or had the same thing.

I did have a periareolar incision so maybe that has something to do with it?

Well, although I don't know and haven't had this issue, but I don't think it sounds like a serious problem or anything just part of the healing process, you know.
But I think you should still contact your ps and just ask to make sure...better safe than sorry hehe.

Could it be puss or something other than dried milk? How long after BA did this start? Have you ever had any hormone issues? And, are your periods regular?

lol I am 100% positive I am not preggo. I maybe noticed it about 3 months ago. Everything looks great...no redness or swelling and no tenderness to touch. I sleep on my tummy every night....it's so weird! There's no odor and it's white in color....
I thought well, maybe things are a little funky from my PS being so close to the mammary gland/ducts.

My cycles are regular....I am taking birth control so everything is very regular.

I had thought about going in to have a full physical done before my revision in Feburary...like have my thyroid and everything else checked out.

Thanks ladies for responding! I have been hesitant about saying anything because it is...just a little gross. lol

I have heard of this happening before since I joined the forum. I think it is random but it does sometimes happen. Sorry I could not be of more help.

♥cInNaMoN♥ is an unknown quantity at this point
This always happens to me if I squeeze mine and was discovered by accident about 5 months after I started the depo provera shot. I had never in my life had it happen so I know it's the depo. While I was pregnant and the break that I took from the depo for about 5 months it never happened. I'm back on it, and it (milk-clearish--stuff) has never ceased, but only comes out if there is pressure. And after my ba, I noticed some leakage and I think it was from the pressure of the implant and swelling and it went away. This may be happining to you if you are on the depo. Does more come out if you squeeze the nipple (or does it hurt too badly to try)

I can't really help with this but I remember reading about being able to bacteria pass through the nipple (i.e when breast feeding your suppose to clean the nipple and stuff) so was just thinking that you use some antibacterial wipes to clean the area and I would definitely mention it to your PS just for peace of mind, I'm sure its just the healing process but don't risk an infection!!!

Nuby will become famous soon enough
I am reposting one of my earlier responses to a similar thread. If it is breast milk, then you are not alone! Here you go:

I also had this happen. First one side, then when it stopped the other started. Sometimes it is very white, sometimes slightly clear and then the white shows up. It is called galactorrhea (Nikki, I hope I am spelling this right) and is apparently pretty normal. I shared mine with my PS and was told it was fine. If it is yellowish in color, smells foul, or is accompanied by a fever, I was told to call back immediately. Otherwise, I was told it should stop on its own, and was nothing to be concerned about.

BTW - this can happen to any of us - children/no children - breast fed or not. I personally have never been pregnant and it happened to me. The massage and the implant itself stimulate the milk duct and you produce a bit. Nothing to worry about unless it becomes very frequent, you experience any of the symptoms that I mentioned above, or a few months down the line it does not stop on its own. Keep your eye on it and watch for changes, but otherwise you (and I) are fine!
