Post BA Odor

I've seen a lot of posts on here about underam odor shortly after a BA, but I seem to have a different issue - my boobies smell funny! I noticed it immediately after surgery and thought it was just the tape, then later on just thought it was sweat or something.

Now that the stitches are out, tape is gone and I'm in a regular bra, I just can't ignore it! DH describes is as a medicinal smell, along the lines of peroxide or something plastic-based. I think it smells like the fluid they use to sterilize medical tools. As with all body scents, it's more pronounced if I'm very warm.

Is it possible that the reaction my body is having to the implants is causing this? Somebody please tell me they've noticed something similar, or I'm gonna feel like a freak!

Yep, stitches are gone, incisions look good. It's not an offensive smell, just a little strange....you know, like when you eat curry and it seeps out of your pores with your sweat - you can smell the spice. This is the same sort of thing, only you can smell the plastic

Bridgit,
I didn't notice any change in smell on my boobs.
How strange? Could it be what your moisturizing with?
Scented things change smell when they go on the skin, what are you using on your boobs?
Maybe you should try not using it for a day to see if the smell changes.

That is the smell of anesthesia, darlin'. I had the same thing. I takes a bit of time to get out of your system. For me it went away within about a week with the BA. Years ago when I had my tubes tied, I could smell anesthesia coming out of my pores for weeks. Drink lots of water, and it will diminish.

I had the aweful smell from the iodine or benodine (sp). It was under my steri tape strips, which had to be on for a week. Eeeeeeeeew, the odor was just overwhelming to me. It took everything in me to not rip them off and clean it up with rubbing alcohol. When my 7 days were up, that is exactly what I did and then hopped in the shower and followed up with Dial soap, just to make sure....hee hee

OMG thank you! That makes so much sense! It also may explain why food tasted strange for the longest time and why DH says he could smell the exact same smell on my breath......I feel normal again, albeit with stinky boobies!

I have the same issue. When I tell people my boobs smell they are totally grossed out. Haha, its a hard smell to explain. It definitely smells like a "medical" smell would be like if that makes sense. Ive noticed all my bras still have that same smell after washing and drying them.... I got my implants almost 2 months ago. Any advice when it will go away?
