I started massaging today... and I did just as I was told and even watched the video at this link even though they aren't nearly loose enough yet to do what they do in the video...
(http://www.womensplasticsurgery.com/...ssage-aug.html) And I SWEAR now I am sore and kind of hurting Is this normal? I then iced them and then applied heat just for my own comfort.... but they are really sore/killin me right now!!!Normal???

i'm sure it's normal to be sore after massaging, i just started massaging a bit now..i'm 7 weeks post op..
so if you are just a few days out of ba...then i'm sure you'll be sore massaging... i can't imagine massaging right after..gosh that would have been painful.. but if you are unsure..then call your ps and ask them? Good luck! |

Thanks! Yeah I'll ask them tomorrow.. they told me to start massaging week 2 so.. here I go! And it's so funny because I watched this video someone posted (http://www.womensplasticsurgery.com/...ssage-aug.html).. and I can't even do what they show because mine will definitely not even MOVE like that yet, they barely move now!! just squishing going on, basically!

I remember the first time my PS massaged my implants (one wk post-op). I seriously saw stars on that one! lol I was soooooooo bruised and still pretty sore. It seriously took mine about a month or so before everything was all bouncy and squishy. I remember the first few weeks, I was discouraged because they barely moved...or so I thought.
![]() I am kind of scared because I am going back in Feb. for a revision (CC repair and cresent lifts) and he's going to have me massage right away....I remember how uncomfortable I was so that worries me a bit. I know I'll be fine! Nothing a little bit of pain meds won't help.

Thanks! SO Lovinmynewboobs... you actually bruised after massaging? I guess I won't know that until tmw/Friday.. but I'm glad that it hurt you (not really, but you know!) It didn't hurt so much as I did it, just uncomfortable.. but damn was I sore after!!!
And also, what is a "crescent lift?"

I am 13 days post-op and I still don't find the massaging to be too comfortable. I try to do it at least a couple of times a day, but it does make me kind of sore, especially around the incision area.

Your PS office didnt go step by step with you how THEY want you to massage? The massage technique shown on that site is no where near similar to how my PS told me to massage my boobies. I had also seen this video before my BA and was DREADING massaging because of it- it really does make it seem painful so I can understand why you must be in pain. I dont think you have to be that tough on your boobs so early on. I am 11 days post op and learned how to massage on day 8. Next time you see your PS make sure to touch base on this!
Good luck :-) |

One of the women at the office showed me... basically cupping underneath and cupping above, and just squeezing and massaging. I am going back next week, when I will be 17 days post op... I will call though today and ask about massaging, more in depth.
Thanks! |
