Lopsided feeling and heaviness in chest, is it normal?

Hi everyone,

I am at the 3 month mark post BA, (I had my BA surgery in late October of 2006). I have not had any problems or complaints related to my surgery, although in the past few weeks I have started to feel an odd sensation on my left side. Whenever I bend over or especially turn over in bed, I feel a lopsided or heaviness on my left side that I don't feel in my right side, like the boob has to shift it's weight from side to side or something. Both my breasts are firm, but no more than they were when I first had my surgery. I really hope this isn't an early sign of CC - that does have me a little worried. I have started to drop (finally!) on my left side, but not as much on my right/dominant side. The right side also feels softer to the touch and doesn't have the heavy feeling the left boob does. My mother who is heavier than I am and naturally larger breasted said this is a common feeling (the weightiness/flopping feeling when moving around) in women who have larger natural breasts. I wouldn't know as I started out a 36A with very little breast tissue and went with 330 ccs saline mod profile unders which isn't large IMHO, I hope to be a small C when all dropping/fluffing is done.

Has anyone else experienced this heaviness feeling and/or flopping sensation and is it something that will go away as I drop/fluff or do I need to learn to live with it? I don't feel sore or uncomfortable, just a bit tight on the right/dropped side and I have this strange boob flopping feeling whenever I bend over or am turning over in bed.

Thanks for all your help and best wishes from bookyone

Hi all,

Called my ps Friday and found out that this is all a part of the normal drop and fluff process for some ladies. That is a relief...

Bet wishes from bookyone

Hi Anne,

Thanks for the info., I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one. I was starting to worry a little as I'm at the 3 month mark and everyone says CC can set in around this time, but my ps said it was nothing to worry about as long as they're moving around.

Best wishes from bookyone

Hi Bookyone
I have the same feeling in my left boob. I also have a slight rippling in the inner cleavage area which is a little visible when I bend forward. (I'm also getting the 'heavy/pressure' feeling when I'm on my side or bend over). I'm 2 months post op so I hope that this goes soon too as I drop!

Hi Lozzi,

Thanks for sharing this, it's nice to know I'm not the only one who feels this way. Bending over and turning over in bed are about the only times I notice this odd tight feeling. My ps said it's all part of the healing process which makes me feel better. I just wish they'd drop and soften up a bit as they are very firm still, but just as long as they're OK I'm going to try and not worry too much.

Best wishes from bookyone
