Follow up - 1 week
Hey
Yesterday I went for my 1 week post op follow up. Had that horrid tape taken off (left lots of sticky residue that still wont budge...?!?! )My stitched are dissolvable so I didnt have them removed, just trimmed. I can now shower fully - which is the most amazing feeling in the world! Although I was so scared of hurting my babies that I held them while washing my hair with one arm. They feel really heavy and its quite an odd feeling of having an extra kg on the front of my body! Im sure you get used to it. To ladies who have had theirs a while - did the weight change your posture? I think my problem is Im so scared that I am being careful how I hold my body, very forward etc because the weight just feels unreal!! Only have to wear support bra for another week. Which poses another question that I forgot to ask my nurse - After I take that off, I can wear other bras, so does that mean underwire? Who wore underwire 2 weeks post op? Did it hurt? Is it ok? Er what else....oy yeah Iv been putting a little bio oil on as to rehydrate my skin and also hopefully prevent stretch marks from developing. Still very itchy incisions! But am finding it easier to sleep now, think the tape was really restricting during sleep! what else...oh yah. Just some pointers from ladies with experience again if possible. At the moment - my lefty is softening at the top - which is very good. I had 410 in the left. But my right is very sore at the top, I had 460 in it and its a tad more swollen that the left. Is this normal? I had overs - but the muscle under my right one (with the bigger implant) is dead sore! I am right handed, so could it be to do with that? I hold my handbag in my right, my dinner plate, etc etc. So the slight weight and lifting on that hand - could that be the case I wonder? Anyone who can shed any light or had/has the same would be appreciated. Thank You ladies xx |

I had to wear a surgical bra for the first 4 days and then after that I was told to wear something that was not to supportive and that didn't rub on my incisions. (I have crease incisions) At night I am free to go braless, but every ps is different. I would definitely check on that one.
I am also right handed and my right boob is a bit more swollen than the left. I hear this is normal though, nothing to worry about. I have been trying to use my left hand a bit more to give my right boob a break. lol Congrats on your ba!! Welcome to boobieville. ~Shelly~

You should probably check with your PS as far as when to start wearing an underwire....most say a few weeks especially if you've had a crease incision. I know mine has said 6 weeks, but they're all different. You certainly don't want to mess them up in any way....
congrats on the twins!!

Congrats, sounds like you had good post op. You should call your PS and ask when and which kind of bras he would like you to wear.
Also, keep it from the incisions...but you can try alcohol on a Q-tip to get the residue from the tape off or a little baby oil. Both work really well. |

Wow, your tapes are off. Mine are still sticking strong.
I am allowed to wear any kind of bra as long as it doesn't rub. No problems yet, but they are a little big band area. Which is fine for right now.

I hear ya about the sticky stuff, I am still scrubbing at a couple of spots over a week later!!!!! Also, I just wanted to share that Aloe Vera gel worked really well on my itchy stretching skin, and didnt leave the oily spots on my bras like the baby oil did... It also helps when the incisions itch a lot!
