Well, I've been struggling with upper back pain from day one and I've just been putting up with it thinking that any day now my posture will be back to normal and the pain will go away and I will have saved the money! But it's not going and I can't bear it any more! I've heard you ladies talk about heat pads and they sound great- so I'm giving in now! I've looked on the internet but not much luck- can any UK ladies help?? I'm desperate- all I can think about is my back!

I've got a wheat filled bag thing that you put in the microwave thats good for my back when its playing me up. Pretty sure I got it from Woolworths or somewhere similar.
Or a normal hot water bottle should do the same job, you just have to keep boiling the kettle :-p |

Lynn, Have you tried a drug store or a pharmacy (CVS, Walgreen's, Eckerds)? Some stores like Walmart, Target, Kmart and Kohl's might have them too. I'm not in the UK, so I don't know if this helps or not. |

Thanks everyone. Anne, I had to laugh- yes we are in the dark ages!
I've been on the phone to Boots, they do a small electric blanket like the one in Argos suggested by Amerie but you can't walk around with it. I guess it's back to the hot water bottle (the dark ages!) lol |

Oh yeah, I know you don't have the same stores we have here, Anne. But a pharmacy or an all purpose store here is where we would go to buy a heating pad. I have heard of rice bags and bean bags being used, they sell those here as well. You can also make your own to microwave... Microwave heating pad. I am sure this might work better than an electric pad since she wants to be mobile with it, and she could tie it around herself in some way. The pharmacies here also sell products that are medicated for sore backs. They are like patches that you stick on yourself. |

thinking
I was just thinking the same thing walmart, cvs, etc, they all have the electric which I am using right now or the pads that you put on and they heat for up to 8hrs, but once you open you must use. Can you order something online and it gets shipped there?

The 8hr sticky heat pads sound good- I will phone around and look again at the internet options. I'm heading off now to re-heat my hot water bottle! lol
