Right breast concern

Okay, you're aware of the left excavation of the hematoma, well I am now 15 days post op and I haven't massaged or been told to massage. Well, I've had to slo down again to get my recovery going with the left, but now I am extremely paranoid and scared and don't know what's what. Now I know tenderness is still the norm b/c I am still healing, but now my right just feels firmer, like the muslces are tight, the PS hasn't said to massage, but do you think if I was to rub it some it'll feel better, I don't recall this feeling prior to but I can just be feeling everything now b/c of fear. Has anyone had this? Its not painful, doesn't hurt per se, just feel firmer/tighter. Now when the PS checked on yesterday he said everything looked good and when he was squeezing both last week they were good, I just wonder if I need to concern myself again, or just wait until Monday when I see him again and take the med to relax the muscle, b/c thats what I really think it is, I need to relax the muscle, I had to depend so much more on my right now that I have the drain in the left. Any pointers would help...maybe ice again, I'm scared to even look at them now and I KNOW thats pathetic. I'm just more of a nervos paranoid wreck.

Phenomom will become famous soon enough
You have every right to be worried. Who wouldn't be? Take your meds and try to relax. Discuss the feelings in your right breast with your PS Monday.

I don't think I would worry so much about your righty being more firm than the left. I think that may be somewhat normal? My right one is also a bit firmer, but I am right handed and know I use those muscles more. Maybe that is it? (At least I am REALLY hoping so!! lol) Really, don't forget....two different surgeries, one for each breast. I have been told to massage mine and that is helping with them softening up. I am sure it is nothing but it never hurts to double check with your ps!! Good luck. ~Shelly~

Mine seem to go firmer on me from time to time. Especialy my righty and I guess it's because I'm right handed. I really don't think you have anything to worry about and yes I think take your meds, use some ice, and talk with ps about massage Mon. The massage seems to help. It really does.

You're not being silly for worrying, you have had complications...course you're going to worry...but I wouldnt do anything that has not been told to you by your ps, you havent got long now so I would do nothing , apart from taking your meds, and wait to get all the info and reassurance from him on Monday..I really do wish you all the luck in the world x

My PS told me I did NOT need to massage because mine are unders. He just said for me to start lying on my tummy for a few minutes at night. My left is bigger and still up higher than my right the nurse said it was perfectly normal and will be changing over the next 6 weeks. Hope this helps.

Okay, so once I got up for my nap and moved a lil bit the righty got a lil softer, I think it may be b/c am relying on it more and I was sleeping and it needed some movement. When I explained it to my Dh he said that's why you need to sit your butt down somewhere. So I got up for dinner and now I'm retreating to my bed. I had my daughter playing nurse tonight (8yo) and she was lovin it, I mean she literally helped with it all, the drain everything, she's even giving me a leg massage. LOL I'm lovin it! So I think I freaked early, but this was the only place I knew to come. Thanks and I'll be keeping you guys posted. Gosh, I really appreciate you all b/c everything is genuine. Much Love!!

You're not being overparanoid. Considering what you've been through, anyone in your shoes would be worried. Like some of the other gals mentioned, I'm also tighter/firmer/higher on my right side...probably because I use it more. Definitely ask on Monday though and try to rest up this weekend!
Big hugs!!!

Wink

i agree with the girls, there is no such thing as being over worried when you have had complications.. I never would have gone through with the BA, if I did not have these girls here for support. I wish the best...
