Stern talking to myself needed!
You know, it's really easy to post encouraging notes to others. But when it comes to one's own self, sometimes we (at least I) need to listen to my own advice. I'm only two weeks out. Probably still swollen, a little sore, dropping at different rates. I know all this. I thought I was ready to accept and deal. So I look in the mirror this morning and see two different boobs! Different sizes, different shapes, and I don't like it!!! I want perfection. LOL! Then I start talking to myself. Repeating what I would tell anyone else with the same look. Well, I finally calmed down and looked again. They looked the same but not so bad.
And I realized that pre-BA, they weren't exactly the same. Why should they be now? Just 'cause my PS told me I was fairly symmetrical, I expected matching boobies?? Yep, I guess I did. Ha! Doesn't happen that way, and now I am ok again. I think I can even deal with being bigger than expected. (I just won't ever tell DH what size I end up with.) Time, time, time, it all takes time, doesn't it? That really hit me today. My first time to sorta freak out. Thanks for being here to let me sound off. You ladies really are the best.Anyone else having these thoughts, don't worry. It will pass. Annie |

Annie ~ mine arent exactly the same either, but Im 5 months out !
One protrudes slightly more than the other, the other is slightly wider than the other one, and one areola is bigger !!!! Am I worried ??? Not in the tiniest, b/c I never expected perfection, I am so far from perfection on other parts of me too that now my 'imperfect' boobs are the most perfect thing on me lol.....I gotta laugh at myself sometimes too, my crazy way of thinking actully helps me on the days when i really feel low about my imperfections....oh dear Ive even confused myself now ! You're doing fine though Annie, so dont worry, they will settle down and get more alike as the weeks go on...xxx |

Mine are a bit off too. I think I'm the only one that could see the difference. We just do that to ourselves. So I say to myself once in a while "you look amazing!"

Ladies thanks for sharing about this. I think in my mind I was thinking in the end I would end up perfectly even. I am not even right now. So it totally makes sense that I won't be after.
I will TRY really hard to remember that they may not be perfect or match exactly but they WILL be BIGGER!! And that is my goal here. Now please remind me I said all of this AFTER I have my surgery, LOL!!

Yeah Annie it's a trip isn't it? I wound up bigger than I expected too but DH loooooves them. And I'm not symetrical either, though I was before. But I'm only 6 weeks out and I know, "Change Gonna Come" oh yes girl, change gonna come.

Slinky -
I know that's going to be me, even though I think I'm already ok with the the concept of not being perfect. I already have asymmetry, and it should be better after, but not perfect. Here's the thing - I've looked at so many boobs by now my eyes should've fallen out of their sockets, and when I started looking at them, I was not noticing asymmetry or imperfections. But when I went back and looked again, looking for asymmetry, I found it! A lot of it. Pretty much every pair - and over 90% of women do have it (just like guys with their balls!) My BA is in less than 2 weeks now, and 3 weeks from now I will definitely be on this forum rereading threads that might remind me that ALL WILL BE WELL eventually. Because I know I'm not going to be believing it! It doesn't look like your signature changed and I don't remember what you ended up getting. Wasn't it more than 350? |

Slinky, darling, no one should have to be their own reassurer -- we're not built that way. Even the best writers need editors! No doubt you would tell me the same thing, if I were you, LOL!
Mine were asymmetrical for four months after my BA, until I got a crescent lift on leftie (they are still different shapes, but look much better). Before the lift, I still thought they looked wonderful, but I couldn't fully enjoy them, because I kept being bothered by that small flaw. It's a funny feeling, like listening to someone you're in love with slurp their soup loudly. Hang in there! |

don't forget, 2 breasts, 2 different surgery. you will heal at different pace with each breast.
but i'm happy to see that your not as worried as you were. it took me about 7 months to say that i can see the final result. |

If it is one thing I have learned from these boards is that - if you go into this expecting perfection, you will most likely be sadly dissapointed .... and if you go into this expecting immediate results, you will be even more dissapointed ... I think I have prepped myself now ... but we shall see how I am when the time really comes

Slinky, my parallel universe twin, you have missed MANY threads on this. Some of us have been talking about this for the last two weeks!!! I did a poll on this to try and figure out if it has something to do with your dominant side - hand you write with/do most stuff with!!!
You are not alone!!! Your task is now to find pictures of symmetrical boobs - real or newly real. Ask your friends with natural breasts - how many are symmetrical? It will be a challenge. Anyway...with the way you look in your opera gown - no one here feels sorry for you...

Annie,
You hang in there. You have been such an inspiration to others on this forum, and now what you need is a big hug. Wish we could all give you just that. All I can say for certain is that from what I have seen, you LOOK fabulous!

You ladies are all wonderful. I was tearing up reading all the posts. Thank you all for the kind words and compliments. I think, no matter how much you prepare yourself, it's still a shock to see these large mounds of boobs sticking out! Maybe I'll just quite looking in the mirror for a week or so. Yeah, like that will happen! You know, the othe |
