I tried to run a short distance today. Hard to even explain how it felt. I had on a decently supportive sports bra. But I have never run with boobs before! It was strange!! It didn't exactly hurt, but it did not feel good. So I think I'll wait awhile longer. Instead, I took advantage of the snow here and went snowshoeing - no poles. I was out over an hour. Feeling good. I wonder how I will feel tonight and tomorrow. It was low impact and no upper body work, so I am hoping I won't be too sore from being out of shape. I REALLY want to get back on my bike, even inside. Maybe next week. I AM going to sensible about this. Must keep repeating that to myself.........

Annie

Six weeks seems to be the norm. I'm 19 days out and at my 1 week post, my PS cleared light aerobics/cardio.Your body will let you know what it can and WILL NOT do.

I'm telling!

How do you feel today, after skiing yesterday?

I think it's remarkable, but my PS clears for aerobic activity at two weeks post-op. By the way, he lumps sex into that "aerobic activity" category, as well - LOL!

Slinky - I actually felt fine in the arms and boobs area. I tried to take a run or two this morning and my feet were killing me plus I was too nervous!! I typically snowboard but knew that would be overdoing it.

I don't recommend skiing at this stage (I had a friend that went at two months) even though I did it and I think I'm fine. I planned to take it slow and all that but getting the boots on, etc. lugging the skis around was WORK - All that stuff is heavier than you think. Then as my ps said "I'm just worried about someone running into you". I agree...I was worried. Then I was worried my little one was going to take me out getting off the lift!! Cross country which I think you do...I would do. The gear is lighter, no lifts. The pole-ing you feel a little under the arms but not nearly like I thought you would so I guess take it slowly since there is a lot more poleing in x-country.

ColdinNY is on a distinguished road
I am 7 wks post BA (and lipo). I was walking 4 miles a day after about a week, and last week started back to aerobics (low impact). I find that too much bouncing is painful, but the muscles are doing well!

Good luck!
