how long to back to work?
I've read a lot of great stories about process and recovery. Wondering what a logical expectation is for being back to work...a desk / mostly computer work job?
I'm trying to keep the procedure under wraps from my co-workers/company, so I'll probably take vacation. How long will it take to feel good enough to work? Thanks. |

I got surgery on a thursday and went back to work on tuesday. If you have a desk job you should be fine with about the same. Just make sure to get lots of rest. I was still kinda sore but not too bad!!

Yes,
Resting your body as much as possible is the key. I waited until after my week post-op follow up. Driving was strange for me...turning the steering wheel using one hand over the other like I did umteem years ago when I first got my driver's license . 18 days out, the soreness is just below the crease in my ribcage. Above all, REST, REST as much as you can. Your body will let you know when you have overdone it... DON"T ignore it.

My surgery was last Monday, my post-op was Thursday. All is well, except my boobs are high so I'm wearing the "bungie-strap" to get them down. My pain pump came out on Thursday. Tomorrow was the day for me to return, and I think I'm postponing it till Tuesday. I have another post-op tomorrow afternoon so I may as well just stay home. I am planning a "dry-run". I am going to see if I can manage to set my alarm, get up & shower & dress in something other than my bathrobe. I also have a desk job for the most part and have kept this whole thing quiet from most of the people there. We'll see what happens, but definitely give yourself a full week!

I have taken over 2 weeks off so far. I would like to go back, but my job is very demanding of my arms/pecs, and I definately do not want to overdo it! It's just not worth it to me.
