Best Post op sports bras

Hi Ladies,

I would like to know what type of sports bra to wear post op.

Are there any recommended post op sports bras?
I was thinking maybe a medical type sports bra?
I heard a front zipper is helpful but I'm more concerned about support and care than easy to use.

Thanks!

Under Armour makes a zipper up front closure a bit pricey but IMO it is the best most supportive bra out there and it is great for exercise when you are ready..

I second catnip, I bought 2 of the Under Armour Maximum Support zip front bras. They are a bit pricey, but I figure I will be able to wear them after my recovery for a workout. I feel VERY compressed in my bra and think it's doing a good job. I like that there is full coverage and I don't have any spillage out of the bra or anything like that. I found mine at Sports Authority.

Under Armour is rated very high, and is perfect! Nike also offers one. You may want to check out barenecessities.com they offer great bras - sports bras and everything in between.

I would try to get one Under Armour for daily wear, and even a Target one for sleeping. The ones at Target are made of the most amazing material and SUPER comfortable. I buy them one size too small so its a little snug and offers a little more support. Its perfect for sleeping comfortably!

Good luck!

honestly, i love the ones that come in a 3 pack at walmart i think they are hanes or jockey? they look good on and are enough support for me to make it through a serious cardio class. and they are cheap! like $10 for 3!

Thank you catnip and all the rest of the ladies for the amazing advice.
You guys definitely set me in the right direction, I had no idea what type of sports bra is best.

Thank you mai52takn for the link!!

How soon after surgery do you start wearing it?
Should I take it with me to surgery or do I leave there with just bandages?

Thanks guys! I love this site!!

How soon after will depend on your surgeon. Some specific a post-surgical bra and how long to wear it. Others tell you any good sports bra. And even some say nothing for a week, then use a sports bra. Definitely check with your plastic surgeon. I wore a Veronique Surgical Bra for 3-4 weeks post op. Then went to sports bras at night, and underwire during the day. Your plastic surgeon will advise you.

Glad you love it here! Its such a great site full of great women!

I just looked on the underarmour website and they have a nice looking zip up front bra in black for $45! It's not as cute as they come, but I looks like it'd do the trick! I'm in the same boat as you.. Trying to find a practical yet cute Post OP bra! Lol

I got some JUST like the one my dr gave me at Wal-mart...two pack with black & white that clipped in the front. They seem pretty supportive to me! Plus I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on sports bras when I'm sure to be spending lots of money on new bras once I'm healed up

I am having Saline Moderate Profile Implants "installed" on the 9th- my surgeon recommended the "Hanes Classic Sports Bra" with a zip front. It has a wider band at the bottom (around an inch thick) that won't curl up into my incisions. (Crease.)

Hope that helps- I found it at Sears, model HC32 (Black or White) and it was $19.95.

I am scheuled to have surgery next month. Should I get a sports bra before surgery? Did any of you feel like shopping after surgery? I'm having a lift and tummy tuck at the same time and have no idea how i'm going to feel.

Thanks ladies
