Bra Question?

Hi. Just had a question... I am 16 days po and my PS said I am clear for everything except chest exercise and to listen to my body. I have not been wearing a bra, and he said if I need to just let the strap out some, so weight of implant was in bottom. When were you clear to wear a bra? I haven't even bought one yet. I m not sure what size and I don't think I want to pushthem up. They feel so tingly and when I wear a shirt it is so annoying when it rubs against me. Also, anybody know if it's okay, to put hot shower on them at this point? Sorry, I am all over the place, but I have alot going on right now.

I can't wear a bra for 6 weeks. So I guess I am not much help in that area. Maybe just get a bigger band size than you normally wear so it is no too tight. As for the shower, I have been taking hot showers from day 2 with no problems.

I could wear an actual bra after one month, before that I was in a sports bra. I was showering on day 2. I actually think the hot water is good, helps relax the muscles a bit.

I went home in a underwire bra, my PS thinks its one of the best ways for the girls to have support...

I am in a sports bra still so not much help there but I have been taking hot showers since day 7 but I have to cover my nips cuz shower is a bit fierce J x

I just had my 3 week postop visit. At first I was to wear surgical bra or no bra at all. Now I'm okay to wear bras without underwire, he said I'd probably have to wait until 3 months from my surgery for that. I went to Target and after some hunting found they had a decent selection of non-underwires with non-underwire bras (although finding my size is a different story). I just bought a cheap unpadded - it doesn't really push them up or together since you're worried about that. I actually prefer going braless and really only wear the bras when I leave the house.

I started showering on day 3. Unless your PS said otherwise, surely you can shower by now

Okay, I am starting to get the feeling you girls misunderstood me on the shower thing. I have showered already of course, but I was wondering about running the hot water over the boobies.

Lol, you're right! Now your question makes more sense. I've been letting the warm water run over them since about 7 days post-op. Of course, I just got the steristrips removed today so haven't tried showering with the incisions out in the open there. As long as the water isn't scalding and the water pressure is gentle enough, you should be okay.
