How long before you dressed em up???

I'm 6 days post-op and DYING to try on bikini tops and tight shirts! Since I'm still not supposed to be raising my arms, I feel guilty attempting to do it. How long did you wait?

Oh, by the time I could manuever around I couldnt resist trying on a few tops. I just did it very slowly and -w-out a bra. It was awesome getting a lil preview as to how fab Id be looking in the next few weeks. Id say go for it, just move carefully.

give them some time sweetie. you're only 6 days post op and you dont want to be doing something that might damage those girls. 6 days i was still lying in bed like a beached whale.

i'd wait at least another week. then you can go ahead and wear all the tight shirts and sexy tops you like.

ps - so glad to see that you're doing fine and are so upbeat. keep it up

It's a lot of work taking tops on and off so I would resist just a little bit longer on doing a full blown fashion show. Maybe try one or two things and listen to your body!!!

Well, here is my take on it. I was just like you. By day 5 or 6 I DID feel like Wonderwoman and headed to Target and the mall to try on tops and bikinis. Hubby went along to help me in the dressing room (what a guy!) because it still hurt to lift my arms. Well, by day 10 I felt like crap from over doing it. So I know it is so exciting, but be careful not to ever do things. Week 2 seems to be much harder than week 1 for a LOT of us. Not trying to be a downer, just a little warning in case it happens to you. Hope you continue to do very well.

If you move REAL slow, and stop if it hurts, you might be able to try on a couple different tops, just to see what you look like and have some fun! But don't overdo it. And besides, your boobs now aren't going to look like your boobs in a couple more weeks. So you will get an idea of how great you are going to look, but nothing like the finished product will be. If you can make yourself wait, it is probably a good idea. I know I waited over a week to try on anything remotely fun! For one thing, I was taped up till then. And for another, my boobs were so sensitive, it was uncomfortable putting tops on and off. Still is, a little, but much better. You've got all the time in the world for bikinis and tight tops.

I managed to pull up a cami top by stepping into it...kept me from putting my arms up!! I also had hubby help with a shirt or two...I HAD to get out of the big shirts once the wrappings came off!
So, carefulllllly, if at all!

I was like you, I couldn't wait! On day 7 I tried on my bikinis and my cute dresses, but those didn't require me to put arms over my head. It was so much fun though! I think just a few days later I started wearing my over-the-head stretchy tops, very carefully with help from hubby to put them on. Just listen to your body and enjoy the new you! -Laura

I think its a big morale booster if like me you are feeling low but as everyone has said take it slow stop if it hurts and try pulling things up rather than down if that makes sense lol J x

I started trying stuff on around day 6, I think. I just tried a few things on at a time for a couple of days - it's a good morale booster!

Hey girl, you are crazy as me. I went to the mall on day 4 and shopped, no pain meds....stood in long lines holding loads of clothes. I didn't try it home but did when I got home and I don't recommend it for awhile. I think it's ok if you do one or two pieces at a time, but as the girls said, listen to your body. You will feel the strain and discomfort and it's time to stop. My stupid act caused me to backslide about a week, IMO. I had the terrible back pain, and the shooting pains throughout my chest. Still nothing bad but may have not existed had I not been so stupid. REST....the clothes aren't going anywhere girl! Keep it limited.

I tried on a few tops on day 4, but only ones that I could step into. It really gave me a taste of what I'm in for. It only made me even more excited to go shopping. My 1wk post op is Friday and I hope I get cleared to start wearing something other than button up shirts!

I was out and about on day 7..I felt so proud in my teeshirts..it was just hard gettin the t-shirt off though ..but I couldn't resist!!
