When to treat scars

Hello all,

I know it is different form doctor to doctor. But for those who treated their scars via silicon patches, scar creams, bio oil, ect. When did you start treating them? Do you feel starting it very early assisted in the fading and overall look of them.

Thanks

Per my plastic surgeon instructions. I started biodermis patches at 3 weeks post op on my crescent lift/aerola scars/incisions.

They are already almost invisible!

HTH!

My plastic surgeon told me to use scarguard when the steri-strips fell off. THey were stubborn and she finally had me coax them off at 3.5 weeks po.

I know every plastic surgeon is different, but I asked mine about what to use and he suggested using Aloe Vera. He said there is an anti-inflammatory component and I started using it at about 3 weeks out. I have Scar-Guard but haven't started using it yet. I may do so in a few more weeks.

I just bought emu oil yesturday (day11) and started using that on the incision. My tape came off a couple days ago ...
I dont know the results yet because my incision is still fresh.

Mine said I could use Scarguard after they came off too...but he actually took them off after just one week so I started about 10 days after my BA
