![]() | So sore :( How long does it last and when can you sleep comfy again?
Hi Ladies, Surgery was 10/22 and I'm still so sore. My breasts are still sore, still waking up at 4 am in pain, and my nipples are now OUCH sensitive (weren't before). When did you start feeling better? Sleeping at least on your side, much less tummy? Able to push yourself up out of bed w/o pain? ![]() plastic surgeon Still using ice packs which seems to help

Hey there! You may not want to hear this, but I am 2.5 weeks out and still am sore. I had a post-op today and told my doc this and he said that is pretty normal. I guess I forget that we did have major surgery, even if it is cosmetic. If I were you, I would stay on top of meds, even if it's just Advil or Tylenol. Anyways, I guess I could get out of bed pretty easily at about 1.5 to 2 weeks out, but still no side sleeping! I am strictly on my back, which is getting so annoying! There was a great thread earlier today and propping yourself up with a bunch of pillows and attempting side sleeping that way. I'm gonna do it tonight. Good luck--were in the same boat, so just know that you aren't alone!! And it WILL get better!!!

Hi - I have been right where you have been. I am now 4.5 weeks post op and finally feeling much better. I was quite sore until just a few days ago. And the nipple sensitivity was horrible and still remains some. That can take months to go away. I suggest going to Whole Foods and picking up Hylands Muscle Gel with Arnica. It really helps. I also suggest wearing a cotton tank top under your bra. That way you have the cotton on your breasts and not the rubbing of the bra. Use ice and take hot baths. It's okay to start sleeping on your side. Just put a pillow between your legs, it'll help. Alternate the tylenol and advil/motrin every four hours. Hope you feel better soon. Hang in there because it really does take a good 4 or 5 weeks before you start feeling better |

Im sorry your in pain. I had my ba/bl the same day at you 22nd. Im actually feeling really good the only time im really sore is when I wake up in the morning I can get out of bed but I still sleep on my back with a bunch of pillows I haven't tried side sleeping yet. I would suggest just staying on meds like motrin. I still take a muscle relaxer at night if I feel like I overdid it during the day and feel tight that helps. Hope you start to feel better big hugs to you. |

![]() | Sleeping on side
My surgery was on the 22nd ~ Almost 2 weeks ago, and just on Monday, a little over a week Post op, i said...oh, hell no, i cannot sleep on my back ANY longer, sitting up! So...i just laid myself down in what felt to be the most comfortable position, which for me, has always been on my sides. I have two micro fiber (those squishy pillows) standard size thin pillows, and, like i said, i just lay me down, and boom! i am off to sleep! At first i thought that it would make my breasts slide into my armpits, and it was only yesterday that i phoned the doctor and confirmed that side sleeping was alright..he said, oh yeah...so... Thank you Jesus because i was DONE w/sleeping up AND on back! Sleeping almost like a baby again... P.S. Mine are fairly small, 360's under, saline. Like i said, its been 2 weeks ago and i barely look at them or touch them because it is so weird these "things". I slowly am beginning to touch more and more...TMI... |

I'm 2 weeks out and the nipple sensitivity has calmed down drastically - I understand your pain level on that! lol I was just able to actually start sleeping in bed about 3 days ago - prior to that I was on the recliner. I can push myself up now, but I'm careful with it. I role to my side and then go from there. It still feels really weird to lay on my side though - feels like everything is pulling down and that makes me nervous because of the stitches. So I sleep on my back with some slight elevation. Don't worry - each day is going to get easier.... promise! I was feeling like you are even up until last night when I was getting impatient with the healing process. It's like I'm soooo bored of not being able to do anything! Hugs and a glass of wine to you! (might help you sleep through the night..lol) Try some Midol PM - it has a little more sleep aid than Tylenol pm with the same amount of pain assistance. That might help the 4 am thing. I had that too. Now I make it closer to the 5:30 range....
