Just wondering how long it was before everyone was able to wear a bra? Did you wear a bra in the first month if you went out somewhere for a few hrs at all so you could wear what you wanted (eg strappy singlet) How long was it until underwire bras were comfy to wear? Full of questions today! |

i was allowed to begin wearing bras at 6 weeks. before that i was only allowed to wear camis with the built-in bras (no sports bras). but, every plastic surgeon is different, so you should do whatever your plastic surgeon recommends.

I was told, (and did so), to wear only sportsbras w/o seams or wires for the first month, then only non-wire bras for 2 more months. After 3 months I was cleared for underwires.

This is such a good question! I was going to ask my plastic surgeon tomorrow at my appt. I have some clothes that I'm dying to wear but with a sports bra it just doesn't look right! So my wardrobe feels limited which sucks since I want to show off the girls. Of course Halloween I did cheat and go braless, but only for a couple of hours

I am suppose to wear a surgical crop top for 6 weeks, day and night, and then wirefree Bras for 4 weeks and then at 10 weeks I can wear wires..I had a wedding to go to 10 days post op, and couldnt wear my surgical bra, and my surgeon said he thinks it would be safer to bra-free..so I did, felt a bit weird when I was dancing! But in saying that, I wore wires at 6 weeks after my first BA, no problems at all...and now 5 weeks post op from re-do I am wearing wirefree during the day and croptop at night time.. it feels comfy, nothing is rubbing where the incisions are healing....so I dont see it being a problem! |

I began wearing a bra around 3 or 4 weeks, but only wireless... I wasnt allowed to wear underwire til about 6 weeks... And even then, since I got crease incision, I was very cautious... I didnt start regularly wearing a bra til about 2.5-3 months.. I just wanted to feel that my boobs were 'safe and comfortable' and could tolerate a bra for an extended period of time.. |

I wore a bra home. My doctor gave me no restrictions except for saying not to wear a bra that lifted the breasts up, just give them some support if you have 400's or more. I have switched up between a regular bra and sports bras. I have been sleeping in sports bras.

My doc actually had me in a underwire as soon as my drains came out (Day 6) -- I actually posted about this a week or so ago because i was confused and it just seems all docs a different. A pattern that I found was that girls like me who started with no boobs were more likely to be in an underwire right away -- maybe we didn't have what we needed to hold the new girls or something... HTH

I haven't had mine done yet but my plastic surgeon said i am to be in a sports bra 24/7 for the first 6 weeks. Since i do have a few events coming up that require attire not fitting to have a sports bra under he said i could wear a wireless bra but to make sure it had good support. I found a few at target that are wireless bra's, almost like a sports bra, but are lower cut so you can wear cute tops with them.

I was told to wear a sports bra 24/7 for the first month and only at night after that. I'm 2 and a half months out and try to wear my sports bra the majority of them time (i find it way more comfy bc regular bras seem to make my boobs a little sore)
