Anybody Else?
I have a question, so I am a lil over a month on righty and will be a month on Thursday with lefty. Did anyone still have mild discomfort, achiness, or sometimes sore. I'm thinking maybe I am still over extending myself
... when can I get back to a normal life? I just want to know if it's just me or have others experienced this as well. I'm like come on now, it's a month later, shouldn't I be done with healing????

![]() I can't post from experience yet... but it can take several months for full healing, we are all different in how our bodies recover from a trauma. Have you talked with you PS about this, to see how he/she feels?? I really hope and pray that you top feeling perfect very soon, I'm sure this all takes a toll on you. (((HUGS))) |

I have been feeling a little discouraged too. I think we all expect to jump back faster. Maybe because it is elective surgery, not like emergency heart surgery or something. But it is still SURGERY. I spoke to one of my nurse friends this morning and she said "Jill, you had surgery! It takes 6 to 8 weeks to recover from any surgery. Just be patient". I know that, but sometimes it is nice to get a reality check! So for the time being I am trying to

Sounds pretty normal to me. Unless you are just totally out of it still I wouldn't worry too much. You will have little aches off and on for a little while. If you feel that you need reassurance go see your PS.

I second what Jill said. Sugery, whether its elective or not, has a healing time that we can't hurry. I'm actually surprised to feel this good this soon. I don't feel 100% normal. I get tired if I overdo it and I do, sometimes. I've never had surgery before, but I have had broken bones and sprained ankles and I remember how long the healing took for those. It was much worse than the BA, I can tell you that. So, again, it's that mantra of patience and waiting. In another month, I bet you will feel much like your normal self and be back to all your regular activities. Don't get down on yourself. It will happen! Till then, you can always come here for comfort.

Hey Monique!! If it makes you feel any better my boobs still sometimes are uncomfortable, feel unusual as the implant makes it's way down, etc. My left is still going more slowly...lots of healing left to do. I feel better every week but am still not completely 100%.

hi Hortongirl
I know how you feel too! I am about 2 1/2 weeks postop and I have just started feeling pretty good, however, I still have episodes almost like morning boob during the day. Like my muscles are locking down or spasming on the implant. It's not comfortable, and then I start having nerve pains. I think it's normal and it will all subside eventually. I think we all think we can spring back quicker than we do! Take care!

I'm 3wks. and still feel pain and discomfort regularly. Honestly, I don't expect complete healing until a few months out.

Your body is healing itself, love. I feel the nerve twinges now, (right now in my right as I type this) a little uncomfortable
. Take it easy and as someone said come here when you need. Congrats!

Hey don't worry I am month and a 1/2 port-op and I still have pain, usually in the mornings and when I am in weird or not so comon positions. As all the girls said just give them time, before you know it you will be pain free and with a beautiful pair of boobs.

All in due time. I am 5 weeks post op today, and every day and week gets better. Overall I feel pretty good, but if I do too much I still tire out very easily.

We are about the same amount of time out. I sometimes do feel not pain but soreness. They really aren't healed until 6 weeks or longer. And maybe because this is the 2nd time on that one boob.

We're pretty close in timing of our BAs and I'm still feeling not quite right as well. Mostly over with the pain, but they feel wrong somehow, and I'm definitely limited in how I can move. I started back at work this week, and my job involves lots of lifting which is impossible to avoid, so it has been a pretty bad week. My chest has been aching really badly and I am exhausted. Have also already worked 3 1/2 hours overtime in just 3 days!
So, even a month out, there's a way to go. It is major surgery and now we have foreign objects in our bodies - we have to expect it to take a little longer I guess. |
