Grr! So Tired Of Hurting!!!
Hey girls!! I have to rant, please forgive me.
I'm not depressed anymore, so that's good. Actually I am feeling lots better than I was a week ago...except for hurting all the damn time! Seriously, how much longer can this last? Tylenol helps, but doesn't take all the pain away, and night and mornings are awful. I put my strap on for 15 mins. and take it off for 15 mins. and so on, and MAN! That strap kills!! I can handle having hard tight boobs that are not quite perfect looking and slightly bruised and swollen. I'll deal with that as long as I have to. But after 10 days straight of non-stop pain, I am going to kill someone!! It's certainly not as bad as it was the first few days, but unending pain can take a toll on someone's mental/emotional state. I went from being sad about it to being pissed off about it (that's where I am now). When does it stop hurting? Someone please tell me there is an end to this!! Is it coming soon? |

I also had overs so I'm probably not of much comfort here
I did feel like hell for a few days though, couldn't have made it through the first week without codeine... It must be awful having to go through worse and longer pain with those unders but it will be worth it in the end! Just hang on tight, a month from now you won't even remember how badly it hurt anymore and you'll just be happy with the new boobs that are starting to soften up, too

The Tylenol was not very helpful for me either.
I finally tried the "fast acting" it was a little bit more relieving. Ask your PS when you can take Advil again. I was cleared at 16 days to start Advil again.I wish I could give you hope on the strap thing. Mine was killing me yesterday. But I had majorly cleaned house on Saturday for a party at our place. Seems like when I do too much one day, I pay the next day with side pain, that is multiplied and aggravated by the strap. I can tell you that the pain now is significantly lower than where you are at 10 days. It eases up significantly! You'll get there!

I had unders, this Thursday I'll be 5 weeks post-op and I still feel pain at nights, and especially in the mornings. Even though its less every day, I feel like this morning boob pain will last until I'm 2 months post-op. During the day I feel fine, except that when I still can't pick up and carry my baby.
For the pain I took 750mg Tylex during the first 2 weeks post-op, but now I only take it when I've had too much activity during the day and the pain at night doesn't let me sleep well. But its been about a week since I took my last Tylex because I'm feeling a lot better now. Just hang in there Peaches, it will eventually go away. Try to massage your breasts every morning before getting up, I feel this helps. Last edited by gaviota; 03-12-2007 at 12:36 PM. Reason: Spelling |

Only time tells...
It will get better, I think I was there at week 3 as well, like this mess has got to get better, but I think at the same time my mind was telling my body to do things and my body at the end of the torture was about ready to attack! LOL Everyone heals differently and even past a month you may get a twinge here and there (especially if you over do it), but it does get better, and I am the biggest wuss when it comes to pain, so for me to tell you it's going to get better is a testament. The one weird thing is the days can't tell us it's better, it's our body!!

You girls are worrying me! I am getting unders in less than 20 days and I have a Easter weekend thing planned at 4-days post-op.
Does the doctor give you prescription for pain-killers? I'll totally overdose on Tylenol if he doesn't

Victoria, I also got the rapid release Tylenol...I like that it kicks in really quick, but I sure miss those oxycodone!! The Tylenol takes away about half the pain, which is good. I know, better than not working at all.
It's just aggrevating...I know you know what I mean, lol! Thanks for giving me hope! |

4 days PO you are doing what??????????????? Yes, most get pain-killers and muscle relaxers. Hate to be the bearer of bad news but IMO you won't be of much use hosting anything at 4 days PO. Most PS ask you to do bare essentials for two weeks. Your arms will be of little use for a while.

I wouldn't have been able to go to any event/function/get together at day 4. I JUST drove the car yesterday for the first time since my BA, a block, and that was rough. I thought I was a champ, but apparently I'm a sissy-la-la! |
