Tape off incisions, next appt. we add saline!

Had my 2 week post-op today and everything looks great! He says I'm still a little swollen and he expects that to be gone completely within 2 more weeks. WOW! I figured the swelling would last much longer.
He took the wide white piece of tape from under my breasts...that hurt like you know what!! I swear, that tape had been on so long, and the glue got so gooey that it bonded to my skin. I now have a very sensitive red stripe under my girls. Trying to scrub the adhesive off hurt a lot so I said forget that!
He also took the tape off my incisions. That hurt, too, and the left one started to bleed a little. Ever since my nipples have been on fire...but I don't mind much because it tells me I have sensation in my nips, YAY! I must say, he did an excellent job on the areola reduction. Both areolas look exactly the same to me, and are pretty much perfectly round. It looks like no woman could have been born with areolas that match so well and are such perfect circles. I'm not bragging...I think it looks kinda weird, actually. But I'm not complaining.
And then he took the stitches out where he removed my mole. That feels like a burn, but not too bad.
He took the tape off the ports which feels so good...they itch a lot less now. They aren't too pretty, but much more comfortable.
I go back in two weeks and that's when he'll begin adding saline. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I asked him when he'd be done adding saline, and he said whenever I want...so it's all up to me how much bigger they get. He said he figures 350 in the rt. and 380 in the lft. but if I want to stop before that then fine. It's all my choice. He did tell me that adding saline will reduce the rippling I have been noticing, so I'm happy about that.
Okay, I'm done! ;-) I'll be posting pics of my incisions and my ports tomorrow in my yahoo group!

Glad your post-op went so well, in spite of the owies.
I'm curious, if you don't mind my asking, why did you and your PS choose expandable implants? It sounds interesting, but I don't recall reading posts from anyone else who has those so they must not be too common? Maybe used more for reconstruction, when the skin needs to gradually stretch.

Annie

Yep, he can do that, lol! I have the Siltex Spectrum post-operatively adjustable implants...there is a port (kind of in my armpit) that he just sticks a needle in (doesn't sound fun) and slowly adds more saline. When I'm satisfied, he removes the port, the implants seal, and viola! He has pumped me up!

Hey Annie, thanks!
My PS chose these implants because I am very thin and he wanted to make sure he didn't go too big. He is willing to give me as much as my body can handle, which happens to be more than I thought I would be allowed, but he wants to do it slow so we can make sure we don't screw it up. Also, I had a very noticeable difference in size between the two breasts...with these he can make them more even than he would have otherwise. And he actually uses them quite a bit, mostly for the 100 reconstructive cases he does every year. He said I presented a similar challenge as those women that have had breast tissue removed but not full a mastectomy...which means I heard, "Your breasts are messed up and not easy to fix." HA HA HA!
But yeah, they are mostly used for reconstructive patients...and I have had a hard time finding anyone to talk to that has these. Oh well...hopefully I can offer advice in the future to anyone that gets these.

Milla, thank you very much. I, too, think he has done a great job...far exceeding my expectations. I almost feel bad saying that, like I'm bragging or something, but he really did a great job, and I'm astounded! I knew I could look better than I did, but not like this, ya know?
I sure hope I am able to help someone in the future that might get this kind of implant...I haven't found anyone to talk to really about it.
