Thank the Lord for ibuprofen!!

My PS gave me the okay for ibuprofen the other day...I made a trip to the store last night to get some, and OMG! What a difference!
Why Tylenol wasn't helping , but ibuprofen has helped so much more. Plus, I got some of those stick on heating pads and put one on my aching back last night. And I put a small pillow under my right side and was able to LAY on my right side!! I actually got some sleep last night. I only woke up once to switch the pillow to the left side and turn over.
I feel like a new woman...in much less pain and discomfort, and well rested.
Oh yeah, the girls kind of jiggled yesterday, too!! Ever so slightly, but jiggled nonetheless...it ALMOST felt like real boob, lol!
So, they are getting there, and I am, too.
Big difference from 2 weeks ago...glad I held on there. And thanks to you all for getting me through the rough days.
I really feel like everything will just get better and better from now on, especially after getting some rest.
I really recommend ibuprofen as soon as your PS gives you the okay...you'll wonder why they even make Tylenol! ;-)

Now I don't know for sure, but I bet your PS would okay you for ibuprofen now. My PS said after two weeks it was okay, and he even okay'd it a couple of days before I hit two weeks post-op.
It really has worked FAR better than Tylenol. I'm a whole new woman.
I'd give him a call and find out if it's okay now...you might be surprised!!

I totally agree. The day I was cleared for the ibuprofen was a wonderful one! I am so glad I asked my PS!

It's funny to see this post since I just came on to ask a similar question about ibuprofen. I am only 9 days po and my ps never said anything specific about the meds after surgery. Only warned about ibuprofen and asperin pre-op. Today I am having a terrible one sided headache. Possibly a migraine. It is ruining my day and tylenol is not doing a thing for it. I really want to try ibuprofen or even an excedrin migrain but I'm not sure if this is allowed. I understand why no ibuprofen before surgery but why can't I have some now that I am po. Any thoughts would be appreciated since I feel like my head is about to explode.!!

Well, I'm no doctor...but my PS approved me for ibuprofen when I was 12 days post-op. He originally said I'd have to wait 2 weeks after, but at my post-op he said I looked great, and was healing perfectly, so he okay'd ibuprofen AND beer!!
I started last night with the ibuprofen...took two 200 mg gel caps. It took away almost ALL of the pain in my boobs, my back, AND it squashed the head ache I had.

I have heard of other women on here that were allowed to take ibuprofen at 1 week post-op.
It would be best to call your PS and ask, but I saw in your other post that his office is closed...STILL, you did pay him a butt load of money!
Does he answer emails? Mine does...I have emailed him TONS of questions. Maybe your's would answer an email from you??

Hope you are able to start popping them ibuprofen soon...it really helps so much more than Tylenol. I don't even know why they make tylenol! (except for nursing mommies, I guess)

I'm glad you are starting to feel better with the ibuprofen. I only took the Percocept for three days and thankfully didn't need any other meds for pain. I love ibuprofen for headaches though, Tylenol doesn't work well on me.

Amen!

Yep, I took Tylenol on the first day post and it did nothing for my achey back. On my day 2 post-op appt I asked the PS if I could take ibuprofen and he said yes and what a difference! By day 5 I didn't even need it anymore. So yep I had the same experience. -Laura

Really? That's funny because I agree with everyone else that Tylenol does CRAP for aches and pains, but I think it works great for headaches (that's the only thing I've found it to be good for...).
