For Those Who Have Used Scar Strips
Any one use the neosporin scar strips. If so at what point did you start using them? My steri strips are off and scars look good so far. For How long did you use them? Did you take them off when you showered because it said you can wear the strips for up to 3 days. And finally did you really see a big difference after you used them? They're pretty pricy but if they work I think it's worth it. Any advice and what others used would be greatly appreciated.

I love them. That is the same brand I use.
I started about 2months post-op, and used them ALL THE TIME for about a month. Now i don't as much....I should cuz when I did THEY WORKED!!!!! I did take them off to shower, and then if the 3 days wern't up I'd just put them back on. They stay sticky and AREN"T steril so I just reaplyed them. Hope that helps. i think your a member of my group, check out my scars ( what you can see, Darnd pictures )

If I remember correctly, I have those and they were great. To reuse them before the 3-day is over, wash them lightly with soap and leave them out to dry. The sticky part will be renewed when it's dry.

Hi Maria, I just started using them on Saturday. I bought them from Walmart, they were about $27. So far I really like them. I take them off before showering and then put them back on after I'm dry. I did wash my car this afternoon & noticed the two closest to my cleavage were falling off (from sweating), but it is time to start new ones anyway. I think I already notice a difference in the smoothness of my scar.
I also bought the Mederma cream for the area around my areolas (I had a lift). They are way too sensitive to be sticking anything to them. Even though the strips are so smooth when you take them off, they are actually comfortable to wear. It's worth trying them! |

Sorry Maria I dont mean to
But I have a Q does it hurt like a bandaid when you take it off? The place where the incisions are are healed but still sensitive even when something rubs against them.

No not at all. It's just a squishy silicone sheet. You don't feel anything and it's nice because they are flesh colored so you don't see them either. I'm using the Mederma on a scar on my leg so we'll see if that works too.

I didn't find Mederma to do anything for me. So now I'm doing the scar sheets. I didn't notice any dramatic change... so I'm assuming that my scars just look good b/c they're healing naturally on their own.
But since I've already bought the scar sheets... I might as well use them. Now I'm sort of thinking of using both.. maybe put the Mederma on and let it dry... then apply the scar sheets. I don't know, I really think my scars just need to do their own thing and heal naturally. As for the scar sheets... anytime you take them off you should wash them with soap and set them out to dry (I put them on a paper towel). And I take them off for exercising and showering (that's what was recommended on the labeling). After they dry, they're very sticky again. |

Neosporin sheets
I used the Neosporin sheets at night and rubbed Vitamin E oil in the scars during the day, and noticed that they got lighter right away. I did this for about 2 months, and didn't start until the scars were fully healed and I got the ok from my PS.
