Mentor Bilumen Breast Implants

These are photos Mentor bilumen implants, which were removed 13 years after implantation.  They are brown in color because the surgeon injected betadine solution into the saline lumen at the time of surgery.  The FDA recommends strongly against this, as it can possibly cause the shell of the implant to break down faster.  Some doctors felt/feel that injecting betadine will help decrease the risk of capsule contracture.  This is NOT recommended by implant manufacturers.
