Nipple Reduction / Nipple Shortening Photos

The pictures below show the results of a nipple reduction procedure.  Women who are uncomfortable with the length of their nipples sometimes choose to undergo this procedure.  The recovery can be a bit painful, but this usually lasts only a day or so, and is easily controlled with pain medication. 

Breastfeeding may not be possible after having this procedure.  Women planning on having a nipple reduction should discuss breastfeeding concerns with their surgeon.

Below is a diagram of how this subject's nipple reduction surgery was performed.  If you look at the center picture, you can see that a "wedge" is cut out, and the nipple is folded over and stitched down.  However, this is not the only procedure used in nipple reduction.
