Laurie's Breast Augmentation Story
I am a 32 year old mother of 2 breastfed children. I am 5'5", weigh 132 pounds. Before my breast augmentation, I was a very small 34B on one side and much smaller on the other side, maybe an A.
My breasts were very uneven and the size difference was unbelievable. I've wanted a BA for as long as I can remember. I've always been very lopsided, any my crease has always been uneven. I always wore a padded bra to help the one side make up the size difference. I would wear t-shirts over my bathing suits and my clothes were baggie on the top so you couldn't tell how uneven I was or what my breast size was. My tops never fit and when dressing up, I would be embarrassed because my chest wouldn't fill the dress!
After reading about breast augmentation for years, I talked to a few plastic surgeons and liked Dr. Wingate and his staff. I believed he would really make me look natural. I scheduled my breast augmentation surgery for 3 weeks later. One of my biggest concerns was the amount of follow up surgeries I would have over the rest of my life. I honestly felt that implants have been out long enough that I didn't need to worry about them. I'd had several surgeries before, so I knew what it was like to be under general anesthesia. I expressed my concerns on the unevenness, lopsidedness and the small size. Dr. Wingate said he'd take good care of me. I admit, right up until I was wheeled into the operating room, I couldn't help but wonder if I had made the right decision financially. This was the first time I ever spent a large amount of money on myself. I never second guessed my decision to have breast augmentation, because I really wanted it, it was all about the money!
When I woke up I looked down and thought, WOW, look at how big they are! I was so excited. My recovery was very easy. I had heard about some girls not being able to use their arms, having a lot of pain and the fullness in the breasts. I was able to wash my hair the next day. I only took pain pills at night to help me sleep. The fullness didn't bother me. It felt like I needed to nurse my baby which I didn't think was too bad. I did have pain when I laid down and then sitting up, and wasn't able to sleep on my side for a few weeks. I have to say, it was so much easier then I thought it would be.
I am so happy I did this! I'm amazed at how real they look and feel. My husband even says the look and feel very natural. My self confidence has been boosted so high that I feel that I can wear anything and look great!
I chose not to tell anyone about the surgery as I felt this was a very personal decision for me. My husband and one other person knew I had it done. Not one person has asked if I had this done, but yet some friends have said that I look great...healthier for some reason they say! Not sure if it's the fact that the clothes fit or the self-confidence but it's showing!
I got Mentor, round, 400 cc's on one side, 380 cc's on the other, under the muscle, crease incision. I'm 2 months post BA, and I'm now wearing 34DD, 36D bras with little to no padding! Big difference from the very padded 34B!
I'm really glad I did this...I wish I would have done it sooner!
