If it is tight you will most likely require surgery to fix that. Closed capsulotomy can work, but if it is still there after one or two times, then you need surgery.

Capsulectomy is to REMOVE the capsule. Capsulotomy is to open or to break it. Capsulectomy can only be done surgically. Capsulotomy is done either medically (accolade) or with pressure. If done with pressure (the doctor presses on the breast forcefully until the capsule pops), the encapsulation ALWAYS recurs.

Everyone has capsules; it's scar tissue and you cannot get rid of it. If you have capsular contracture, you need a surgical procedure. Closed capsulotomy is forbidden and if the implant ruptures, you will need an MRI to tell. Also, you will void your warranty.

Closed capsulotomy is a procedure of historical interest only. It breaks implants, but does not get rid of the scar tissue. Go back to your surgeon and discuss it with him/her.

A capsule forms around EVERYONE'S breast implants; it is a way that your body reacts to a foreign object. In some cases, the capsules or scar tissue overgrows and leads to capsular contracture or firmness of the breasts. This occurs much less frequency now in my practice. Trying to squeeze the breasts as a means to soften them can unfortunately cause the implant(s) to break, so massaging the breast is recommended less often.

If the breast is hard, the capsule is NOT gone. A closed capsulotomy will rupture the capsule; a capsulectomy will remove the capsule. Whenever one does a closed capsulotomy, there is always the risk of rupture. Best of luck.
